This deceptively spacious, well-equipped holiday home, with four TVs, sits in the world famous sailing village and yachtsman’s paradise of Hamble. It offers a real light airy feel, with the living room having large glass patio doors out on to the decking area and 1/4 acre of meadow garden, great for barbecues and children to enjoy. The area has much to offer including Manor Farm Country Park and Hampshire Strawberry Trail. You could also take the foot ferry across the Hamble to Warsash with its nautical heritage. A great nearby daytrip can be to the idyllic Netley Royal Victoria Park with its beaches and views of the Solent. Southampton is perfect for shoppers with the West Quay Centre and nearby outlet shopping centres at Whitely and Gun Wharf. In easy reach is the New Forest National Park with its famous ponies, Winchester Cathedral, Stonehenge and historic Portsmouth and dockyard. Shops, pubs, restaurants and 2 marinas 1/4 mile, just ten minutes’ walk away.

    The cottage met with our requirements to be able to entertain family during our son's Wedding weekend. Initially when we had a concern about regulating the heating we contacted the owner who came promptly and dealt with it.

    Duvets needed replacement. On twin beds one was 4 tog other 10 tog !! New frying pans required. Too much furniture. Pictures on walls dated and faded and not relevant to the area.

    Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments about the differing duvets and you are right we do have a number of different tog weights and indeed a selection of feather and down as well as synthetic filled for the people who have specific allergies. Usually the weather dictates what tog weight we leave on the beds but I will in future leave a note to say where the duvets are kept should you wish to change over. We now have zipped single beds in the upstairs bedroom should you wish to make it into a double bed. Frying pans have been replaced which we normally do at the start of each season although we do tend to keep the older ones in the cupboard just as extras.     The cottage was very nice but we generally do not go back to the same place twice. One thing we did not like is that one bedroom downstairs had direct access to the main bathroom and the small toilet could have done with a shelf as it was used as a second bathroom at time. Other than that a nice cottage and could recommend it.

As it is such a small area we thought that a shelf might make it more cramped and hoped that the recess of the window might be sturdy enough space to put extra toiletries, I will probably remove the plant to make it more accessible.     Very spacious, Very comfortable sitting rooms. Slightly further from shops restaurants than we would ideally like.

Location is always a difficult one; we are still quite rural with the open fields and walks to the village via the public footpath and the marina close by where there is a little supermarket where you can pick up supplies. The village itself is a little further; I’d say a 15 minute walk. Once you are in the car the world is your oyster with huge shopping outlets at Southampton West Quay, Whiteley (which has a newly opened 9 screen cinema and a rock climbing wall for the more athletic) and of course Gun Wharf in Portsmouth and the Dockyard all within a 20-30 minute drive depending on the traffic.
