Blue Buoy cottage is a stylish and well-presented property boasting beautiful sea views which can be enjoyed from the fantastic patio.

Blue Buoy Cottage dates back to the 1800s. Set in the quaint fishing port of Brixham, it is in a great spot with fantastic sea views from every level of the four storey property, which overlooks the marina, fishing port and Torbay. You can see Torquay to your left (on a clear day you can see as far as Weymouth); to your right you can see Berry Head. There is a large patio to relax in over a glass of wine taking in the exceptional views and the atmosphere of the fishing port. The harbour shops and restaurants are a 3-minute stroll away, or take a boat trip to Torquay and Dartmouth for a day’s fishing. A woodburner makes this property great for year-round holidays. The coastal path is easily accessed, leading to lovely beaches and coves; the popular Fishcombe Cove is at the top of the road. Brixham forms the third part of Torbay - the others being Torquay and Paignton. The bay is known as the English Riviera due to its unique micro-climate. Walkers and navigators can get escape and and explore the depths of Dartmoor, spot wild Dartmoor ponies, cross ancient stone bridges spanning the clear bubbly waters of the River Dart and other rivers. You can also feel the somewhat eerie presence of the tors, seven rocky hills presiding majestically over the moors. Take the ferry across to Dartmouth, the neighbouring town to Brixham, set on and across the River Dart. At the mouth of the river are Kingswear and Dartmouth Castles with the rocky waters of the estuary lapping at their feet. Shop, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

Lower ground floor: Dining room/kitchen with French doors. Utility room. Separate toilet. Ground floor: Living room. First floor: 2 double bedrooms. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. Second floor: 1 twin bedroom (zip and link, can be 6ft double) with sloping ceiling.

The blue buoy is a lovely cottage and a perfect location with stunning views overlooking the harbour. Brixham is a beautiful location full of pubs, restaurants and quaint shops. Whilst we enjoyed our stay we did have a few complaints: 1) We weren't informed that there was building work taking place next door and therefore were surprised to be woken before 8am every morning by banging and general building noise. This also made it uncomfortable to use our balcony area during the day as there were 8-10 builders working on the property next door which was intimidating for myself and my partner to sit out under. Had we at least been informed this was happening we would have expected it, but to not be told is completely inconsiderate. This was our only break of the year as we're saving for our wedding next year and this did taint or experience. 2) The bbq was filthy, the metal grid hadn't been cleaned by the last visitors nor the cleaners and it still had all their food and grease stuck to it. We were on our holidays and the last thing we wanted to do before lighting the bbq was scrub somebody's else's bbq grime and so this made the bbq Unuseable for us. 3)We didn't tend to sit in the lounge much as we were out and about in the day and tending to sit in the kitchen of an evening or on the balcony once the builders had left but when we did sit in there, we noticed that there were ants around the sofas and coffee table. 4) Lastly parking, not enough is included in then house description about the lack of free parking close to the house and the need for a permit, we were sent an email 6 days prior to or arrival and the council website says it can take up to 10 days for a permit to come through, we did manage to find a free parking spot but it was 5-10mins walk from the house. The house is lovely and the location brilliant but these things let it down for us, specifically the building issue which could have been prevented and also the state of the bbq.

Response on behalf of the owner; We are so pleased you enjoyed our cottage in Brixham, the views from the cottage are spectacular. I can only apologise about the work next to Blue buoy. We did inform all of our guests so I don't know what went wrong and why you wasn't informed. I'm so sorry that the barbecue wasn't cleaned from the last guests. We do state in our welcome book guests can use the barbecue providing they clean afterwards, our cleaners checked the house and there was no sign of ants. We do have a map in the cottage of places to park and you do not need a permit to park on the streets. You could buy a permit to park in any Torbay car park but you don't need one to park on the road surrounding the cottage it is all free, we are in a fishing port so there is not parking right outside the cottage but you can pull up right outside the door to drop family and your cases off. Thanks for your comments.

Great views over the bay and fish market, close, albeit downhill all the way, to Brixham harbour and the cafés, shops and restaurants along the front. The cottage was well-appointed with sun-terrace (just a shame there wasn't a lot of sun for our week :)) We used the ferries and buses to get about across to Dartmouth, Paignton and Torquay but also walked the South-West Coastal path which give some fabulous views and scenery of the local area. The holiday was spoilt slightly by the fact that there was work going on to the properties either side of us which became intrusive at times but we were lucky enough to find a parking space very close by which meant that did not become an issue for us.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. Brixham is a lovely place to stay. There are some lovely walks and some great places to eat I can only apologise about the work at the property next to blue boy. It was out of my control but so glad you had a lovely holiday.
