Very sadly this was not a good place to stay for us. We found the walls between the cottages very thin and lacking in insulation, we were awoken each night by banging on the bedroom walls, by the next door holiday cottage guests, which continued through the night so we had no sleep. There also seemed to be an incident at the farmhouse next door and although our sympathies go to the family involved, it was distressing to come back to the cottage to find many police cars outside and ambulances. I have to say though that the police were really kind and they do a good job, so it is definitely not a criticism to them. The holiday cottage people also had to give statements to the police about anything we had seen that evening. This continued all evening and made us feel very unsafe in the cottage. We rang the holiday cottage company Cottages.com and they were really helpful and supportive, relocating us the next day to another holiday cottage as we felt unsafe after everything we had seen. The holiday cottage booking company asked the owner of the cottage for a refund due to the circumstances, but she refused and stated that, the security of the holiday cottages had not been breached during the incident and therefore no refund would be given. We then paid again for another holiday cottage as we had only stayed for two nights at this cottage. Throughout we found any dealings with the owner unfriendly. We definitely wouldn't stay again and guests need to be aware that you can hear everything through the thin internal walls between the cottages.... toilets, lights coming on, talking, shouting, TV. On the plus side the cottage itself is very pretty and kept very clean. I hope that things settle down for the people involved and that they offer a more welcoming stay to new customers. Perhaps we just caught them on a bad day and that this cottage is usually much nicer. A huge thank you to the holiday booking company Cottages.com they were really superb in difficult circumstances - and we finished our holiday in a really lovely cottage near Lewes, so thank you. I would definitely use this bookings company again, very professional, but not this particular cottage.

We were very lucky with the weather, but the heat made the bedrooms very uncomfortable. The downstairs double was too small for two elderly people, I slept upstairs in the eaves which was stuffier especially as the window could not be any more than open 2cm. The lounge/kitchen is only big enough for two and we got sore necks looking up at the tv. When we arrived it was to a temporary mini fridge because the main fridge freezer had just broken down and would be replaced, it wasn't. However a broken toilet seat was replaced very quickly. The location was ideal for touring E Sussex and Kent, beautiful areas, and Camber Sands is 10 mins away.

The cottage was pretty. Not as near to the beach as described. Local amenities were actually a car drive away. The fridge did not cool at all, twice the milk went sour in it. There were dead insects and cobwebs all over the cottage. Due to the heat and lack of any fans or cooling, the upstairs room was absolutely impossible to sleep in. Perhaps a better place to visit when its not so hot. The cottage had a beautiful view across the fields and it was a lovely place to sit on the terrace with an early morning tea.

We had a great time at Blenheim cottage. We arrived later than planned but the owner kindly popped by the next day to check we were ok and to give some ideas of family friendly trips/restaurants which was lovely. The cottage is half of the building shown in the picture of the outside (other half is Russet Cottage) but has been cleverly designed to make the most of the space. We had two adults, a 6 year old and a 9 month old and it didn't feel cramped. The garden is surprisingly private and has beautiful views. We could hear some movement from our neighbours but otherwise felt the soundproofing was fine. The kitchen is open plan but has everything you need if you plan to eat in. We didn't have any issues with tv reception unlike previous reviewers and we didn't use the WiFi dongle provided so can't comment on that. The farm the cottage was on was lovely and the location was great. There are loads of walks nearby and we were made to feel welcome to walk around the farm grounds also. It's 10 minutes to Rye, Winchelsea and around 20 to Camber Sands, Bodiam, Tenterden and other villages. Lots of pubs nearby and a supermarket 5 minutes drive away so everything was easy especially as we can't do long drives each day with the baby so for us it was ideal. Overall we had a great time in a beautiful location with plenty nearby to do and see.

A lovely cottage with a beautiful view. Had everything we needed, quite comfy, the two basket chairs were a little uncomfortable after a while, (when trying to settle on a night to watch a film with the kids), understand there is no room for anything bigger but maybe something softer. Would definitely return.

A well converted farm building into good quality accommodation, light and airy, lovely views from the patio. A very pleasant place to stay indeed. The only slight drawback was the kitchen area - if you really were cooking and eating in (rather than going out to eat in the evenings), then there was little storage space for food or for food prep.
