this is a nice semi in a quite estate and we never heard our neighbour there was everything what we needed for our stay. bedrooms were a good size and comfortable thou that's just personnel opinion on a slight minus the sofas could have been more comfortable the enclosed rear garden was just the ticket for letting/sitting out with the dog

We have been staying at berrylands for the last 8 years and this will definitely be our last year. We were not met by new caretaker ( keys left in porch) the house is not very clean , cobwebs and dust everywhere ( pictures were taken) unironed bed linen which looked terrible with a double duvet in a kingsize cover. The oven was filthy and the grill pan was dirty from last person using it. There was no mention of the caretaker putting bins/recycling out over our two week stay so we had to do ourselves.New seating in lounge is very uncomfortable and not relaxing at all. When looking in welcome pack fire alarms had not been tested since may.garage key was not at property as usual and had to text caretaker several times for it on the Sunday, it was eventually dropped off by her husband.NOT the inviting, comfortable , clean home we have come to expect .

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Guests are normally welcomed on arrival and offered a tour of the cottage. On this occasion the guests did not arrive on the previously agreed time and agreed on the phone that the keys would be left in the porch. The standard of cleanliness has always been highly rated at Berrylands and continues to be so. Not all guests leave the cottage as it was on arrival and the occasional item can be missed. This guest has very high standards and has always left the cottage in excellent order. There is a 3 and 10 tog king size duvet for the king size bed, and doubles for the two single beds. Both alternatives are left at the cottage. The king size cover may have felt under filled as the 3 tog duvet was in use. The new sofa and arm chair are in a compact cottage style designed for good posture. They have not proved popular with our guests and are being replaced shortly with a more casual and hopefully comfortable style.

We have stayed in Berrylands twice now and will be going back again. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable and the kitchen is well equipt. The bedrooms are quite large and roomy. It is also in walking distance of the local shops (4 mins) where there is a supermarket, chemist, Pubs that serve lovely evening meals. I would definitely recommend it for a lovely holliday. When we arrived at Berrylands we had to call the caretaker to lets us in. We had called her the day before to let her know the time we would be arriving but when we arrived she was out and we were met by her husband who unlocked the door and left us. Whenever we have stayed at properties previously we have alway been shown round. I did think this was very unprofessional. Somerton is a lovely town but there is not much to actually do there. We have a 3 year old and did find a great soft play area call Safari Tots. Most of our time was spent going to nearby places like Wells, Glastonbury and Taunton.

Very pleased with the cottage, excellent standards of cleanliness. Everything we needed for our weeks stay and the location was perfect. Very quiet road, but just a few minutes walk from local shops and amenities.
