Berry Barns is a tranquil holiday retreat on the edge of the pretty North Devon village of Shebbear. Close to Dartmoor National Park and within easy reach of North Devon’s spectacular coastline and sandy beaches, it is the perfect holiday choice at any time of year. The Shippen (ref 31068) and Lakeside Lodge (ref 31069) at Berry Barns are the perfect choice for a relaxing holiday for family, friends and couples, and the owners conveniently live on-site. The Shippen is a pretty barn conversion with beams and a cosy woodburner, whilst Lakeside Lodge has an eco design and lovely views over the lake. With glorious views towards the distant Dartmoor Hills and nestled within 25 acres, guests can see Highland cattle, ducks, geese, chickens and more. Berry Barns has its own purpose-built 21/2 acres of coarse fishing lakes stocked with a wide variety of fish (no licence required, bring your own rods). Fishing is restricted to residents only, ensuring peaceful, unhurried and exciting fishing . Whether you want to fish for a dozen fish species in the lakes, or simply to enjoy the sight of dragonflies and damselflies skimming over the water, or the brilliant blue flash of a diving kingfisher, the lakes add something just a little bit magical to Berry Barns. The ancient market towns of Holsworthy, Hatherleigh, Barnstaple and the historic ‘little white town’ of Bideford are within easy reach. Top-rate golf and links courses, family and surf beaches, the acclaimed Eden Project, and the stunning scenery of the South West Coastal Path are within easy driving distance. Beach 15 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 3/4 mile.
