Set in a small hamlet, these carefully converted holiday cottages form a courtyard development where every care has been taken with the design, internal furnishings and their impact on the environment. Bell’s Barn (prop ref 25899) stands detached from the other cottages and is suitable for wheelchair users. Just a short walk from Crakehall, claimed to be one of the prettiest villages in the Dales, with a large village green overlooked by an imposing manor house where cricket and quoits teams often play. Nearby, the historic town of Bedale, 2½ miles, offers a weekly market every Tuesday and various events during the year, together with a range of individual shops, restaurants and pubs. Masham, renowned for the Black Sheep Brewery, is 10 minutes’ drive and Richmond with its Norman castle, Georgian architecture and thriving theatre is also easily accessible. Historic York and its many attractions is within easy driving distance. Alternatively, just enjoy the wonderful Yorkshire countryside either by car, bicycle or on foot. Shop and pub ¾ mile. Properties 25898, 25899, 25900 and 25901 can be booked together to accommodate up to 16 guests.

    We had a lovely stay in this very nice cottage. I did have a few misgivings about whether the underfloor heating would be adequate for February but I need not have worried it was very effective. In fact my brother- in-law was very disappointed that he couldn't light the log burner. Everything you would need for a comfortable stay was provided. However I do think the pillows could do with being updated as those provided were a bit past their best.

    Lovely comfortable home from home. Brilliant facilities, easy access to A1 and the coast. Yorkshire dales on the door step. Highly reccomended. Owner steve and co very helpful.

    Beautiful cottage. The only slight gripe was that it was very warm which during a hot August made sleeping difficult because there are no opening windows in the bedrooms, just big doors which you don't feel comfortable about leaving open at night.

    We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage. Compact and yet spacious! Everything we needed was available except the weather! Although that was not too bad! The cottages are well managed and we're delighted with our stay here!
