lovely cottage unfortunately has a problem with flies we could not stay in cottage had to spray every room and leave locked up for the day. needs a deep clean bird droppings o beam in bedroom. single beds short and lumpy. very upset after paying for 4 star accomodation. area beautifull

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for drawing these matters to our attention. We’re glad you found it a beautiful area. The cottage is in the Suffolk countryside, very rural and surrounded by farmers’ fields. However, flies are part of rural life, particularly at harvest time, as now, and this problem is not confined to just our cottage. We're sorry if you found the flies to be a problem but we take every precaution we can and have 2 very effective ‘redtop flycatchers’ close to the cottage. Many visitors comment how well they have slept but nevertheless we are getting quotes for Hypnos mattresses for all beds as this is an upgrade that will be useful for the future. They will however be the same length as the existing beds, i.e. standard bed size.

Bell Corner Cottage provided us with a comfortable and characterful base from which to enjoy the many attractions of Suffolk and only a 30min commute to Snape Maltings. Facilities are very clean and a well fenced, secure garden for dogs/ children to play. Sue and Peter are caring hosts: there if you need them whilst always being unobtrusive. We would highly recommend this charming, quirky, historic cottage and look forward to return trips.

Great cottage, plenty of parking, and peace & quiet. Good jumping off point for the coast (Southwold recommended) or inland attractions. be wary of sat navs - go to Cratfield Village to find the cottage - the postcode takes you a few miles out! The cottage is warm, welcoming and excellent facilities

Lovely quaint country get away perfect for a full detox. Only downsides was unfortunately the wifi didn't work second day. Also very remote no local shops or pub have to drive. However this suited our needs and we enjoyed it with lovely walks for our doggies. Owners sue and peter were really welcoming.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. We can only apologise for the wifi issues, BT engineers have now got it back to normal.

Beautiful cottage in a very quiet, rural location. Very well appointed and laid out, warm welcome and lovely cake on arrival! As it was just after our wedding we also received a card and bottle of wine! Everything was supplied, though we did bring an extra supply of logs for the open fire. The only real criticism is finding the place - we had no trouble with our SatNav so bring one if you have one, though finding a signal was occasionally an issue. Sue & Peter were great in helping us feel welcome, and we would definitely stay here again.

A charming cottage with an open fireplace and bags of character. The bed is large and comfortable, and the cottage is well equipped and warm, despite the thick stone walls. There is plenty of room for parking and the village is peaceful and rural; the location is convenient for visiting the coastal locations such as Southwold and Aldeburgh. There is a pub within short walking distance which sells nice beer and is very welcoming, although I wouldn't personally rave about the food. My only negative comments are that it may not be that great for those with restricted mobility due to the steep stairs and a downstairs loo.
