Fabulous location, clean, cosy and comfortable. Lovely features especially the Rayburn. Garden a bit sketchy for dogs as the there is huge drop into next doors garden and the cooker is unpredictable. Otherwise a fantastic place and would go back again.

This could have been a near perfect place to stay with peace and quiet, but the standard of cleanliness was disappointing and some of the equipment was not in working order, generally lacking a little TLC

This was the second time we had stayed at Beehive. A great location for getting around but thye cottage itself is starting to look tired and could do with a good paint job internally. Seating is a bit uncomfortable after you've had a long day out and just want to chill. Bit dissapointed with the overall cleanliness, the wife gave the kitchen and equipment and good clean over with some hot soapy water and the floors a good sweep as the areas out of site had not been done for a while. Chimney needs a good clean as we came home to sooty smell each day, following a recent soot fall experienced by a previous occupier. The kitchen is well equipped and the linen was clean.

On our first evening it was a bit chilly so we decided to light the open fire which was already laid. Unfortunately the chimney had not been swept and was blocked. The living room filled with smoke very quickly and we had to put water on the fire to put it out quickly so the chimney did not catch alight. We reported this straight away to the caretaker who said she would arrange for swept as soon as possible and she would contact us to let us know when they were coming. We never had that call and we never got to have our cosy evening in front of the fire just the smell of the smoke for a week!!!!
