Lovely cottage in a beautiful area. The living room was a little bit small for 5 adults and the floors and place mats didn’t seem to have been cleaned before we got there. These were minor issues however and we really enjoyed a warm, cosy, relaxing stay.

Lovely little cottage with beautiful views. Peaceful and tranquil. Perfect for the reader or romantic getaway. You can take a well behaved dog but must be careful as sheep grazing all around the cottage. You must also use caution when walking nearby as roads are narrow and the odd tractor may come by. We didnt go out when dark. We were there with our family, teen aged boys didn't mind the location. There is Wi Fi. Rose was lovely and only a phone call away. Or look down over the hill to her farm which I often did. It snowed a bit which over Christmas was a treat! Monmouth was our nearest town with supermarkets and lots of shopping. The best find for us was the little old fashioned cinema. Is a must go to. Really enjoyed our Christmas break with thanks to Rose for the hamper left for us...

All good apart from a leaking roof in the bedroom. And not being told the price does not include the electric!!

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: There was no leaking roof, but a small leak in pipework above the bedroom ceiling which had been fixed the week before this booking but was awaiting redecoration. It does state in the property description that electricity and NSH are by meter reading, but there is an abundance of dry logs available to use free of charge.

First I would like to say thanks to Rose for making us so very welcome. This cottage felt like home as soon as we walked in. It has a very cosy feel to it and the views are absolutely stunning. Everything you need is supplied and if you need any help Rose lives just down the road. The nearest towns are Monmouth, Abergavenny, and Ross on Wye with the City of Hereford 12 miles distant. There are a couple of pubs near by and everyone is so friendly. We shopped in Monmouth for the essentials (Lidl, Iceland, Waitrose, M&S foodstore) as it is only 7 miles away and the town has a lovely feel about it and all the shops and staff were very welcoming and helpful. All in all a great time was had by us all and I would definitely highly recommend this home from home and I for one will be back for more of the same.

Fab cottage in a beautiful location. Peaceful and isolated which is exactly what we wanted! Loved the fresh homemade cake which was waiting for us and the owner was interested and helpful if needed but was not intrusive! We chose the cottage for its isolation and not for the local amenities. The local pub was incredible. Wished we hadn't waited until the last night now as we would have gone there regularly if we had known how good the food was. Local village and town shops had everything we needed. Would definitely return again!

An idyllic cottage in beautiful countryside. The surrounding area is fabulous for walking with breathtaking views. We were blessed with amazing weather all week. The cottage is very well equipped and extremely comfortable. The owner is lovely and made us feel very welcome. The local pub is just over 1 mile away and serves excellent food with locally sourced ingredients. We can't wait to return.
