Enjoying an idyllic situation on the 33,000-acre Douglas Estate, surrounded by open countryside and panoramic views, these three attached holiday cottages, set within a courtyard, have been renovated and furnished to a 5 star standard and provide excellent accommodation from which to explore the surrounding areas. Woodland walks are available direct from the door, and the Southern Upland Way, Scotland’s coast to coast long distance walk, runs close by. It is an ideal base for hill walking, fishing, wildlife and bird-watching, sightseeing or one of the many country estate pursuits available locally. Within easy reach are the cities of Edinburgh, with Scotland’s most famous castle dominating the city skyline, world-class museums, galleries, restaurants and bars, and Glasgow, a vibrant bustling city and home to the Scottish Ballet and Scottish Opera. Shops 7 miles, pub 2 miles.

Great cottage in a great location - feels remote but easy to access Glasgow, Edinburgh, Lowlands and even Loch Lomond if you don't mind a drive. We wanted to book again for Easter but it was already booked!

We had a very pleasant week, nice and warm, although our weather was very good, would imagine it be nice place to stay in winter, lots of hot water, comfortable. Handy base for exploring. Lovely views. Nice bedding. When we left some our 'stuff' we were very much obliged to have it parcel posted back to us and a big thank you because I'm sure that this was a hassle.

Lovely cottage - third time we've stayed in this location. Having an all ground floor property was great for the toddler. Would have been full marks but the grill broke and there was no frying pan!
