Was a great weekend away with family Everything was perfect apart from not having bathrobes to go to the jacuzzi which is located outside the property Ask flies kept coming in one room where the guests in that room had to sleep on the sofa

We were a party of 12 and none of us could fault it (apart from the steps to the hot tub a bit steep). It was an ideal getaway for a chilling hen weekend. The amenities provided were high spec and lovely touches like providing milk etc. Set in lovely Welsh countryside close to Newtown. We cannot wait to come back......just need another friend to get married !

I imagine that when the Barn first opened, it was a beautiful conversion. The setting is spectacular with amazing views across the valleys. However, there are clearly maintenance issues that have not been addressed for some time. It seemed that in nearly every room a handle dropped off a window or a blind was broken or a cupboard door would drop off etc. Tiles were cracked, windows leaked and generally the level of maintenance required was unacceptable for a property advertising itself as 5 star rating. The standards of cleanliness were unacceptable with layers of dust in certain areas and food left in the freezer. A complete lack of any instruction manuals for cooker, TV, DVD, Sauna, Washer/Drier etc was very frustrating and time wasting! There were flies throughout the entire property all of the time. Some little electrical ‘fly zapping’ gadget in the kitchen at least would have been helpful. The ground floor bunk bedded room at the bottom of the stairs is little more than a large cupboard and very unpleasant for someone to sleep in. The sound insulation was a problem. Those sleeping in the rooms below the kitchen/living area found it almost impossible to sleep if anyone was in the kitchen/living area talking or walking around. My family was genuinely surprised and disappointed at the lack of maintenance and lack of cleanliness regarding the Barn. The Barn was very expensive to rent for a week in the height of the holiday season and, whilst I recognise that the pool and location may come with a luxury price tag, I regret to say that, overall, the Barn represented very poor value for money.

Absolutely amazing! Loved every minute. The owners were lovely & couldn't do enough for us. Every room was gorgeous, modern & clean. Fabulous views. Not one complaint at all. My whole family wished we could have stayed longer! The kids loved the pool & the adults loved the hot tub! I will certainly recommend to everyone I know! And I will certainly be booking to go again.

This is a great property and we had a fab time. The location is great, the scenery is beautiful and the pool within the house is a lovely touch. However we felt there were too many niggles with the property for the amount paid and to justify the 'luxury' tag. The owner was lovely but of the 3 items we bought to her attention only one (lightbulb) was actually addressed. We also (as per a previous review) found the sound insulation downstairs very inadequate, if you tried to go to bed early it was impossible if people were still awake upstairs. Also the bunk bedded room at the bottom of the stairs was little more than a large cupboard and very unpleasant for someone to sleep in. There is also a large amount of 'snagging' that needs to be attended to, especially considering the price and luxury price tag, eg. curtains that did not meet, cracked toilet seat, broken soap dish, lining in pool coming away and a kitchen cupboard door hanging off to name a few. I am also concerned that a couple of our party also received small electric shocks in the sauna, we only read the other review regarding this after we returned home so it appears nothing had been done about this. In addition, I think the cleaning could have been better. We found dead flies and a babies dummy behind an upstairs bed suggesting a lack of thorough cleaning, when my mother helped the cleaner before leaving by stripping her bed the duvet underneath was unpleasantly stained. Also, a pet hate of mine in these sort of places is finding several bottles of old cooking oil in the kitchen with just a bit in each along with old food in the freezer - I dont think anyone would actually use these so please clean them out properly! Finally, there was a total lack of instructions regarding the house facilities eg. heating, washing machine, sky TV which we found peculiar. It would have been so handy to have these. I know this review might sound like we are being very picky but I think these things need to be addressed properly. Nice as the owner was, I got the feeling that lip service was being paid to items raised and the issues above are probably still in place.
