Response on behalf of the Owner; Firstly, I would like to say how sorry I am that our guest didn’t feel her stay at Bedw Barn wasn’t as she had expected.
We would like to give feedback on all the points raised here in this review……
Swimming Pool - The indoor swimming pool is heated to 30 degrees and the pumps are all on timers, they do not run 24/7. The pool would only drop a maximum of 2 degrees whilst the pump is on rest, this still keeps the pool at 28 degrees, warmer than most leisure centres.
The swimming pool water created a film on the top of the water, during the last day of their stay. This was unfortunate but the pool was safe to use but the guests choose not to use it, which was quite understandable. We are really sorry that this caused inconvenience but unfortunately these things do happen and it was a shame that it happened on their last day.
Hot tub - The hot tub at Bedw barn is a great experience situated in the outdoor mood room. On the control panel is a little red button, which turns the pumps off and if left off the water temperature will drop. On arrival all the guests are informed that the only buttons they need to use on this control panel are the jets and lights, and I do tell them about this red button. It is also on the instructions on the windowsill. However, sometimes the information doesn’t always get to all the party or to be fair to some of our guests they think they are saving the hot tub by turned the off button. On a few mornings when tested the hot tub during this week, the button had been pressed, I am sure by accident, but I did just let them know, so that it wasn’t cold when they wanted to use it.
Sauna - Again on arrival, I informed the guests that the sauna is an infra-red sauna and therefore no coals, but also to ensure that all guests are dry when entering the sauna. Our Sauna is indeed earthed!
Cleanliness - We very often get comments from guests about how immaculate Bedw Barn is, so we were very surprised to see the comments on the cleaning. However we are sorry that the guest felt it wasn’t as clean as it should be, and we are grateful to her for letting us know in her comments. Therefore we have spoken to the cleaners to reiterate the importance of cleaning under beds, behind sofas etc. on every change over.
Dishwasher - The dishwasher does continue to work; we have however fixed it more securely to the kitchen units, as we felt that it may have slipped back into the units, therefore not being able to close the door enough for the program to start.
Washer/Dryer - Checked and working fine, 2 dials on front of machine, one for selecting the program you want and the other for the length of drying time, if you do not select the drying time then the dryer won’t start.
Cost of staying at Bedw Barn - The price guests pay, like all holiday cottages, reflects the time of year you stay, the number of guests that the property accommodates, facilities, outdoor space, car parking etc.
The majority of our bookings are for family groups; Bedw Barn works very well for these groups of guests. We also accommodate luxury hen groups too.
Bins are positioned at the rear of Bedw Barn, out of site from the beautiful views from the front of the property.
Water pressure - On occasions, the water pressure appears to be low when there is a large demand, very rarely happens, however we are looking into this to see if there is something we can improve.
Wi-Fi - The signal to our Wi-Fi is out of our control, however we have asked ITS technology to look at our Wi-Fi to see if there are any problems with the signal. We apologise for this inconvenience but hopefully this isn’t a regular occurrence.
Lastly, Communication - We endeavour to help our guests during their stay and always have answered to any problems as quickly as possible. It is very difficult at times to answer immediately, but we do always get back in touch with our guests if and when they contact us.
