Ivybridge, the nearest town, has an indoor swimming pool, leisure centre, good shopping area and supermarkets. Ivybridge railway station is just one mile from the property with easy connections to Plymouth. The local area is also well served by ample bus connections, visitors can park at the railway station (free all day), with a bus every half hour into Plymouth. There is riding available 2 miles away and golf 3 miles, with easy access to St Mellion Golf Club. The city of Plymouth, with its historic Barbican area, restaurants, bars, Hoe and waterfront, is a popular place to visit, and is just 20 minutes away in the car. The rural market town of Totnes, with its eclectic array of shops, is about 30 minutes’ drive. Shops 1 mile.

Spent the whole week trying to find something the property DIDN'T have; other than a latch on the bathroom door, I failed! My family and I had a lovely, comfortable week's stay even though the weather (in late March) was changeable. My eight year old grandson was kept happy for hours in the game room, beating me at table football.

Beacon Cottage is a truly lovely house with stunning views in a lovely location. We spent a very enjoyable week there and can't wait to revisit. The house is spacious but very cozy, spotless, well cared for and has been extremely well equipped. We received a very warm welcome with lots of treats and nothing had been overlooked to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.

A magnificent cottage in a beautiful location with stunning views. Everything was provided for down to the last teaspoon! The kitchen was equipped to the highest order. Good wi-if and phone reception all day. If you like walking then you can't go wrong here. There are also good travel links via the train or bus. Can certainly recommend the "gold" bus service to Plymouth or Torquay from the bottom of the road. Runs virtually every half hour. Lots of national trust places within easy driving distance. The list is endless. Can't go without saying how friendly and helpful the owner was. A real home from home.

Very comfortable, clean and well equipped. Brand new kitchen. Very good value . Only minor point is the approach lane and the junction at the bottom if turning right to go to Ivybridge.

This cottage is brilliant! As well as being just on the edge of Dartmoor with all mod cons and totally private, away from the hustle and bustle of modern life, we were amazed by how much thought had gone into providing everything we needed ... as well as the cream tea on arrival. Worth 7 stars!
