Enjoyed our stay at Beachaven ! Interesting location - bit out of the way, so little in the way of traffic, just down the road from the Carlyon Bay Hotel. Very close to main railway line, but didn't really disturb us to be honest. Last train around 23:45, first around 06:00. I would stay here again - nice and spacious and has everything needed for a few days away. Only downpoint was the dishwasher that decided to flood the floor instead of the dishes ! Owner was informed. Oh, and like others have mentioned, the mattress in the main bedroom was awful - so soft it was like a water bed :( Made for a good base to go out visiting, close to Eden Project, although didn't visit as thought the prices were extortionate ( have visited in the past anyway ). Finally worth mentioning is that the owner requested £200 deposit for breakages which I politely declined - T&C's state the deposit is for parties of 6 or more - there were only 4 of us.

Beachaven satisfied all of our requirements.. It is located in an area with lots to do and see within a small radius and the group of six senior citizen were very happy with the set-up.

Just had a lovely week at Beachaven. The house is well equipped, roomy and comfortable. The only 2 complaints I have are the mattress in the main bedroom is so soft, really uncomfortable and the door to the ensuite in the same room won't open without dragging on the floor ( we actually stayed here 2 years ago and was exactly the same ). These are only minor things and overall we had a nice time at Beachaven. The bar and bbq place at the beach was a bonus !!

Good accommodation. Spacious and clean. Good base to venture to all areas of Cornwall. 5 minute walk to a good beach with beach bar and food bar etc. Good to come back to at the end of the day for a couple of hours. Outside at the back needs some attention. Needs a renewal of garden furniture, weeding etc. Felt a bit neglected. Didn't realise train running straight past the property but didn't pose too much disruption. Bedrooms superb size and bonus having ensuites in each room. Lovely balcony area off front bedroom. Great open living space and toddler friendly on the whole, although would benefit from new stair gate and one for the bottom of the stairs too as well as child locks on the cupboards with it being open plan. Didn't like having to remove all of rubbish. Should be in with the cleaning of the property. All in all a really good property for a group of 6 and if coming back to that area would definitely stay again.
