Amazing location. Fantastic views. Alice and parsnips the cat were very welcoming. We can't escape the fact that there were no basic essentials like hand soap, only a few toilet rolls, no welcome pack like a bottle of water. Had to shop in the centra which was 10 mins drive and fortunately was open late as we travelled some distance. This was necessary was as the local shop had out of date food and food that was not appealing. This is not something that can be held against the property but needs to be mentioned. We did really enjoy the stay and we would go back but for the price that was paid, it didn't meet the standard of other properties within this price bracket that we have stayed in previously.

Superb location! Sandy beach, great sunsets (the house has a lovely balcony to enjoy the latter) and a lovely local pub called Roche's (there are in fact two pubs in the village) plus a truly exceptional restaurant (Aldridge Lodge) 5 minutes away in the car. Easy access to other parts of the Hook Peninsula (the Hook Head lighthouse is wonderful) and, at Ballyhack a short distance away, you can catch the car ferry across the river to County Waterford. The house was everything our party of 4 could have wanted, exceptionally clean, and the owner was a delight and extremely helpful. We will come back (as, judging by the visitors' book, do lots of other people). Our 4 night stay was exceptionally good value for money.

had the most amazing relaxing time, the cottage was immaculate throughout it does state it is on split levels and a stair case down onto the beach which is steep but we never had any issues and I have 2 smallish children. if you are a bit weary of using the stairs onto the beach though there's another stair case about a minutes walk down the road. the views are amazing! everyone we met was so helpful and nothing was enough.it is a very small village but where it is situated makes it very easy to travel to lots of different locations. the strand tavern is a must to eat there we have never had a bad meal there everything is so beautiful. also there is a small shop and a takeaway which is open on the weekends which I'm presuming is because of the time of year. the owner was very welcoming and made us feel at home we will definatly be back!!
