A lovely character cottage in good location. Really well equipped and felt like a home from home. Sue was very helpful on our arrival and sorted out the parking. Excellent base for us and grown up family with dogs. Only downside was the down stairs shower room, could do with some updating maybe.

Excellent all round. Made the Holiday. Some nice touches - lots of bits and bobs available that you'd normally have to pop out and buy on arrival. Flowers and wine make it very welcoming.

The cottage is like a real home from home. It is very quirky with the access to different bedrooms. The kitchen has been the best that we have had to use, and had every thing that you would want in your own kitchen. we enjoyed being able to stay at Bayview Cottage with our dogs as this made our holiday complete.

lovely cottage in a perfect location the only negative was that it was quite dark & damp-we kept the dehumidifier on 24/7 & had to empty it 2-3 times a day

Fantastic spacious cottage. The roof terrace with a view of the sea is perfect for breakfast or sitting with a glass of wine in the evening.

The cottage smelt of stale cigarette smoke, including the bedrooms and bathroom, we had to go out a buy a can of air freshener & scented candles. The bedding was old, the pillows were flat and hard we went to the Range at Torquay and bought new pillows to just to get a good nights sleep. The shower in the wet room was leaking water under the tiles, so we avoided using this room. Utensils and crockery in the kitchen had to be washed. Dust and cobwebs throughout that had been gathering for quite sometime.

    Response from: Administrator

Response on behalf of the owner; I am very sorry that Bayview Cottage was lacking the standard that you expected. I was unaware that the cottage smelt of stale smoke, it is however available to smokers and. I have No Smoking signs on all the bedroom doors it is out of my control if people decide to ignore them and smoke in the bedrooms, I know lots of holiday cottages that are completely no smoking and perhaps these would be more suited to you. With regards to you using scented candles, it does state in the house book that the use of candles is not allowed due to fire risks. With regards to the bedding there are 8 pillows on each of the double beds 2 in each pillow slip as I do realize they are quite flat and likewise there are 4 pillows on each of the single beds. I have never had complaints about the pillows I have not felt the need to replace them recently. I have had complaints however about the mattresses and because of this 3 of them are brand new this year. I am fully aware that there is a problem with a leak around the temperature adjuster, not behind the tiles, however due to the cottage being so busy I have been unable to call a plumber in to fix the problem yet. There are two other showers in the cottage that can be used if you are unhappy with that one. Finally I do check for cobwebs and I also check the crockery often to make sure that it is clean. It is a large property and I employed a cleaner about a year ago to help me because of this, however sometimes things may get overlooked. I hope you find the perfect cottage for your next well deserved holiday, and sorry again that you found Bayview Cottage disappointing.
