Fantastic! The accommodation was wonderful. It’s in a remote area but still other residents close by so a feeling of safety and community. It was a beautiful location with dark skies and allowed us to witness a spectacular meteor shower. The property has everything you need and kept to a great standard. It is a lovely, quaint and romantic property. A note mentioned the owners were considering removing the bath in favour for a shower but We felt the bath is one of its most romantic features. You can share a sensual and romantic bath with your partner at ease and it was the perfect getaway for our anniversary and something we would want to do yearly! Removing the bath would lose the romantic aspect.

Loved the cottage, location is excellent for getting about to the coast Aldburgh, Orford, Snape, Southwold, Dunwich, Walberswick. Their good pubs serving food locally also 2 very good farmshops close at hand. The cottage itself is great, however it does have one fault, there is no shower which we hadn't realised when we booked. Reading some of the reviews that people have left we feel that some people are just looking for things to find fault over. We found no problem with the owners dogs or anyone else's dogs. There are no noisy neighbours and found that the owners couldn't have been more helpful.

Dirty dirty Dirty! Initial impression was yes this is nice, then I saw the state of the sofa! It took us a 6 hour drive to get there so wanted a cup of tea. Milk butter and eggs kindly provided, shame we couldn't use the kettle until we bought descaler. It needs a good clean and a lick of paint, it's very grubby. Cream sofa is stinking. Stains on the Hessian rug, cobwebs everywhere, had to wash utensils before using, only cooked once in the lodge ate out every other day. Went out before 10 each day and did not return until 7 as just felt so grubby. Bed collapsed twice so hubby had to fix it. Overall not good at all.

A perfect place to stay and relax. Ideal private setting close enough to explore the Suffolk Coast and the stunning countryside. The large doors of the Lodge allow you to bring the outside in. It has everything needed for a comfortable stay.

Not for us. Cottage needs more attention to detail. Very open plan bedroom with noisy equipment from 7.30am till 4pm ish. Bathroom needs shower has the bath not suited if you have any movement issues. ☹️

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay. I have followed up your comments and the solar panel company have now made it very easy to turn the system off for those guests who would prefer it. I will show future guests how to do this. Regarding the bath, I am sorry this was not good for you. Some guests love a bath, others would prefer a shower. It does clearly say in the write up that the lodge has a bath. If we had known in advance that you were experiencing mobility problems we could have advised regarding our facilities to see if they were suitable for you. We also ask our guests if they are comfortable and ask them to speak with us either in person or by phone if anything is not right for them, as we can usually fix it. I wish you had let us know your concerns at the time as I am sure we could have improved things for the remainder of your holiday. It is important to us that guests enjoy their time here as we know how special holiday time is. I am sorry again is was not good for you.
