The property is on the edge of Troutsdale and Dalby Forest (whch has Dark Skies status for people to come and do a spot of star gazing) and is surrounded by tranquil farmland with a splendid outlook over the Wolds. Opened in 2011 each barn has been individually styled, architecturally designed and benefits from beautiful character features such as exposed stonework, solid oak beams and oak flooring married together with modern conveniences. All cottages have comfortable sofas and comfortable beds. Guests have access to two acres of communal gardens, including a tranquil mature rose garden. Secure storage for bicycles. The area is perfect for horse riders or cyclists to ride straight out with miles of bridleways and cycle routes to explore in and around the North York Moors, an excellent area for bird watching. For those who enjoy fine dining, The Anvil is the nearest restaurant, located in the village of Sawdon serving an excellent menu and hearty Sunday roasts (booking in advance is essential). Basin Howe Farm takes its name from its very own Bronze Age burial mound. This is a truly unique selection of cottages offering a chance to get away from it all in scenic surroundings. Opal Cottage benefits from huge floor to ceiling double aspect cart shed windows bathing the lounge in light. The lounge has a wood burning stove for additional comfort in the cooler months. The kitchen/diner is in a garden room with aspects of the garden on all three sides and views beyond. This room leads directly to an area of decking overlooking a large pond (children beware!) perfect for enjoying al fresco dining or evening drinks. Bedroom One is on the ground floor with a Super King zip n link bed and en suite bath room with thermostatic shower over the bath. Bedroom Two is on the first floor. It has a King size metal framed bed and en suite shower room with shower cubicle.
Ground Floor: Property has oil fired central heating and comprises: Lounge: With wood burning stove, 37" flat screen TV with Freeview, DVD and Radio/ipod docking station. Kitchen/Diner: Conservatory style with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher. From the kitchen there is access to decked area overlooking pond. Washing machine and tumble dryer in communal area Bedroom 1: With zip n link beds which can be either a Super king or twin beds (please specify preferred layout when booking) and en suite bathroom with bath and thermostatic shower over, WC, wash basin, heated towel rail and shaver point.
First Floor: Bedroom 2: With king size bed and en suite shower room with shower cubicle, WC, wash basin, heated towel rail and shaver point.
All fuel, power, bed linen and towels included. Cot and high chair by arrangement. Wi-Fi available. Ample parking. Private decked area overlooking pond with outdoor furniture.
