The Old Smiddy is a lovely cottage well equipped and lots of wild life to watch. Enclosed garden is ideal for a well behaved dog and the track leading to the cottage is a good traffic free dog walk. Downside would be that it’s not within walking distance to any amenities so you need transport to get to the shops. For a peaceful away from it all break it’s a great location as we couldn’t get a mobile signal which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. We visited in June so we were unable to see the dark sky but with no street lights and it’s remote location I would expect it would be an ideal location. Although it’s a bit of a drive to the main shops it’s well located to drive to the many beautiful places in this area.
