Great base to explore Somerset, the cottage was an ideal size for 5 adults and two small children. Amanda and Paul were excellent in sorting little things out for us. Overall a really good holiday venue and a high VFM score

Lovely cottage, very well equipped. Great for a family with the two lounge areas. Lovely big garden and the apples from the orchard were a bonus, Thank you! Walks straight from the door. We even went to the local film evening in Cheddar, can recommend it. Cooking on the aga was so easy and it warmed the whole house. Would definitely return.

A lovely place for a family celebration; with a good, social space as well as places to retreat for a little peace and quiet. Barrowswood is spacious, comfortable, clean and well equipped. The gardens, paddock and orchard are ideal for a morning stroll or to sit and watch the sunrise over the Mendips (or to watch the stars on a clear night, due to the low light-pollution). Although it is in a lovely quiet location it is within an hour's drive of the big cities of Bristol and Bath, and the seaside at Burnham and Weston-Super-Mare and five minutes from Cheddar Village and Gorge. There would be no hesitation in recommending Barrowswood as an ideal holiday base.
