As a big family of 6 we were looking forward to having a nice big cottage. When we first arrived the cottage looked beautiful. But we were very disappointed inside. The first thing my children saw was how many cobwebs and spiders there were. Even the tv unit was thick with dust. We tried to enjoy the cottage but unfortunately my eldest who is 12 refused to sleep in her room as it had too many spiders. We spoke with the owners who said this is normal as it's an old converted barn. They tried to remove some but still wasn't very nice. The kitchen equipment could do with upgrading as there wasn't even a non-stick frying pan. It's such a shame as we stayed in one of there smaller barns a few years ago and it was lovely. The cottage did have some good points though. It's lovely and big, with a private garden. And the children loved collecting eggs. And the owners left few amenities like tea, coffee, sugar and some cleaning equipment. Overall it's a nice big cottage and if you don't mind spiders or some dust you will enjoy it.

Response on behalf of the owner:- Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased you enjoyed all of the complimentary goodies we provided. We were very surprised and saddened to receive such a low score as we take great pride in the presentation and appearance of all of our 4 & 5 star rated properties (please see all other reviews) The property is thoroughly cleaned on a weekly (sometimes twice weekly) basis throughout. As soon as you made us aware of the situation (via what's app whilst you were out) we immediately called around to try and remedy your issues. We always endeavour to make sure our visitors are warmly greeted and have the best countryside experience possible. After many years of satisfied customers one might think the problem is not ours.

A lovely cottage and a peaceful yet not remote location. Easy distance to Shepton Mallet for shops (Tesco/Aldi) and only 3 miles to beautiful Wells. Good facilities in the accomodation and plenty of room. All you need (microwave, dishwasher, washing machine) and easy to work out the controls. Would love to return at some time in the future.

The barn was being used to accommodate family for a weekend get together with parents/ grandparents, so the local area was already well-known. However, it is ideally placed for exploring both Wells and Glastonbury, the Levels and the Mendips. The barn is beautifully equipped, spotlessly clean, and with a well-maintained and sizeable garden to relax in. Fresh eggs and a bottle of wine were a lovely welcome for our arrival. We can definitely recommend this delightful barn as a place to stay for a quiet, comfortable, relaxing holiday.

A beautiful barn set in the most gorgeous location. The personal touches of milk, eggs and wine were most welcome. Home comforts were all included in the barn. Fabulous location were everything is within a short driving distance.
