It's always difficult going away in Feb which is why we choose somewhere with a swimming pool which was wonderful with excellent facilities. The cottage was well equipped, warm and the downstairs bedroom on suite an essential for my disabled husband.

Barn Owl was generally a lovely place to stay. It was clean and a good size for 6 adults and a toddler. There were some issues with items being broken or not working, such as lights, door handles and TVs in the bedrooms. A little bit of minor maintenance would sort this out. The location was lovely and peaceful and the use of the pool and the play room was excellent. However, it could have been clearer when booking that access to the property was down several long country lanes with very little room to pass other vehicles or farm animals! It was also slightly disappointing not to receive a welcome pack of essentials, which we have had when booking other cottages in previous years. This would have been a particularly nice touch given the rural location.
