Little Barn provides the perfect base for a relaxing country holiday.

These four beautiful self-catering holiday cottages (refs: W43191, W43192, W43193, W43194) and a studio (ref: W43195) are situated just 2 miles from the pretty, picturesque village of St Agnes and just minutes from the dramatic North Cornish Coast. Property refs W43191 and W43192 can be booked together to accommodate upto 13 guests. Peacefully set in a wooded valley next to a footpath alongside a stream, 11/2 miles from Porthtowan, these delightful properties, set in beautifully landscaped gardens, are ideally located for touring the whole of Cornwall and are perfect for a relaxing country holiday. Mount Hawke is a small village with a local shop, but for a wider choice, take a trip to St Agnes or Truro, the county capital, with Gothic cathedral, cinema, theatre, restaurants, individual shops and indoor market. St Agnes boasts many cafés, restaurants, craft shops and galleries. An ideal centre for walking and exploring the Cornish coastline, cliffs and coves with an abundance of wildlife including porpoises and dolphins. Visitors will be spoilt for choice with beaches including Porthtowan, Trevellas Warren, Portreath and a little further afield, Perranporth with its beach bar right on the sand. The Eden Project near St Austell, Maritime Museum at Falmouth, Newquay Sealife Centre, Flambards Theme Park, Towan’s Miniature Railway and numerous National Trust properties are all easily reached and provide a great day out for the family. The coast road that runs west towards St Ives is a must with many sweeping beaches, quiet coves and coastal villages that make up this enchanting area of Cornwall. Horse riding, golf, surfing, sea fishing and cycling are all available close by. Shop 700 yards, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

    Compact and cosy-all that we needed for a quiet walking holiday. Good pub/restaurant in the village and village store. Clean and comfortable. Lovely garden at rear with interesting selection of animals.

    The barn was very clean and tidy, and makes the perfect base for exploring the rest of Cornwall. There's also a lovely woodland/ stream walk that goes from the barn and brings you out on the beach, although I would recommend wearing walking boots as it was very muddy in places.

    This cottage could do with a overhaul to hide wiring to sort cracks on wall in bedroom and on ceiling in the living room. Then it could do with a new coat of paint. This cottage is dark. There were also trades doing some work with every hammer hit being heard and felt.

    Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for taking the time to bring your concerns to my attention. I live on site and would have welcomed your comments during your visit in order that I might have addressed any issues I could at that time to try and enhance your holiday. Little Barn is over 200 years old with 2ft thick walls and we are set in a tree lined wooded valley. Therefore at certain times and especially if the weather is bad and the day generally dull it can lead to a lack of sunlight in the Cottage. However, there are numerous bright LED lights which when turned on create a great deal of light in the Cottage. You will perhaps have heard that in recent weeks Cornwall has been the subject of severe storms. Unfortunately these storms necessitated urgent repairs to the roof to prevent any leaks should there be further bad weather. This was scheduled for the middle of the day when visitors are normally out - to avoid any disturbances. Had I known you were in any way inconvenienced I would have rearranged this work. I also have a continuing maintenance schedule in all Bannsvale properties - and have had no other adverse reports such as yours. However I will be looking carefully at the issues you have raised. I work hard to try and provide the best experience possible for visitors and if there are ever any concerns I welcome comments immediately so that I might deal with any issues. I would welcome your return to Bannsvale in perhaps a larger property that might suit your expectations better.

    We had a great time with excellent weather. The cottage was well equipped but could do with a few manuals especially the washing machine. Having "done" self catering for many years so go well equipped I was surprised that there was not a vestige of washing up liquid or one dishwasher tablet or one washing machine tablet. After all that we hope to book for next year.
