The courage was comfortable Unfortunately the bedroom stool was faulty and broke and the owners expected us to pay for a replacement and also the spare keys dropped down from the place they were kept and initially they wanted us to pay for new locks until they found them

    Response from: Administrator

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments. The bedroom stool was a substantial piece of solid traditional furniture (not flat pack). Damage to the stool included the padded seat being separated from the legs and the frame onto which the legs are fastened broken into two, with the timbers being split along their length leaving part securely screwed to the padded seat and part secured to the legs. These guests were contacted following their stay and asked how the stool became broken and whether or not they had accidently taken the spare key with them. They were also asked if they had taken out insurance since we would be seeking the costs for replacing the stool and unless the spare key could be found / returned the cost of this and the potential cost of replacing the front door lock. The spare key was later found in the cottage lodged behind a radiator in a different room from that in which the keys are located.

This is a very well equipped cottage, with excellent cooking facilities. The main bedroom was spacious, and although the second bedroom had limited headroom (as advertised) it was fine for our adult son. The heating and hot water arrangements were very good, and there was the added attraction of an efficient multi-burner in the lounge. The owners had left a very comprehensive manual and many useful leaflets about the surrounding area. The main criticism was that the property has no shower arrangements/facilities. Whilst the freestanding bath itself is a bit of fun, it doesn't quite make up for the lack of this pretty standard facility. Also, the cottage is not non-smoking,

The only issue was lack of facilities to wash your hair as there was no shower and no water jugs in the bathroom.
