The Derbyshire Regional Specialist - Fantastic properties in the most favourable locations. No one knows Derbyshire better!

With the opportunity for free fishing on-site and located in the heart of the Peak District National Park, this is a perfect holiday location.

Located in the heart of the Peak District National Park in the picturesque hamlet of Hulme End, this stylishly converted stone holiday cottage dates back to the 1880s and comes complete with the opportunity for free fishing onsite. Comfortably and tastefully furnished to a very good standard throughout, it is full of thoughtful personal touches. The cottage is ideally located just 250 yards from a 200-year-old coaching inn, simply making them a perfect base in which to relax and unwind or from which to explore the area. Nestling on the edge of the River Manifold and the Manifold Valley, the surrounding Derbyshire and Staffordshire countryside is both spectacular and diverse. There are ample opportunities for walking, cycling and even horse riding with the Manifold Trail accessible straight from the door, and the Tissington Trail just 2 miles down the road in the Peak District village of Hartington. The popular dramatic rocky outcrop known as The Roaches, long loved by both walkers and climbers alike can also be reached in just 15 minutes. The busy market towns of Leek and Ashbourne are both easily reachable within half an hour, as is Buxton with its famous opera house and stunning Georgian architecture. The Heights of Abraham with its unrivalled views and cable car, the ever popular town of Bakewell, the magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth Estate and Haddon Hall, and even Alton Towers Theme Park for those thrill seekers, are all also just 30 minutes away. A mere further 10 minutes then brings the stunningly beautiful village of Castleton, The ‘Emma Bridgewater Factory’ full of her locally produced earthenware iconic pottery, and the remarkable plague village of Eyam. Shop, pub and restaurant 250 yards. Bridge View Cottage can be booked with River View Cottage (30173) to accommodate up to 8 guests.

I have been to self catering cottages before. However this cottage was the best I have ever stayed at.There was nothing I could fault apart from the lack of phone signal. This didn't me as I was on holiday. Also I had wifi for emergencies.

Lovely cottage - unusually for pictures it looked bigger and better in the flesh than on the photos. Would definitely recommend for a family of 4. The master bedroom was so homely - such a lovely feel about it, twin room was perfect for our two children (9 and 11) beds were comfortable, kitchen had everything we needed and lounge perfect size. Patio was private and gave some outside space. I was worried when I booked that we were close to the road but it is quiet and even with the windows open it wasn't exactly noisy. Close to the pub too for the evening!

A very homely warm cottage. The views fron the bedroom particularly were really beautiful. Best nights sleep for a long time. Although attached to the owner's home we weren't bothered by them except when asking advice. We didn't even hear their family. An excellent location for walking, cycling and lots of good food pubs nearby. We found plenty of places to visit on inclement days. Would love to return.

Very nice cottage, spacious apart from 2nd bedroom where one of the single beds was right under the sloping roof so not ideal for tall people! The photo in the cottage details shows both beds at right angles to the roof slope but that layout may have restricted access to the bed further away from the door. However the owner was helpful and we did enjoy our stay.

whilst we enjoyed our week at Bridge View it was marred by an issue with the hot water and heating. 4 times we woke up to a freezing cold cottage and no hot water. The owner was on holiday and had left no alternative contact details should an issues arise - just his own mobile and seeing as he was in New Zealand we could have waited 24 hours for a response. Luckily the people renting the cottage next door knew that there was an issue (how they knew there was a problem I don't know) and advised we spoke to the man in the local shop who turned out to manage the maintenance of the property. It turns out that there is a faulty valve and the owner knew about this. We would have appreciated advance warning and an emergency contact before our stay!

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your response and we are glad that you enjoyed your stay. were aware of the change of contact details as the I had informed them but unfortunately due to a technical error, this information did not feed through, so do apologise for this. However the Customer Service’s details were on your documentation and if you had any issues at all you could have contacted them in the first instance. I tried to contact you four times prior to my departure to New Zealand and at no time did you respond despite leaving message. I was not aware of any problem with the heating system; the guests prior to your stay had no issue. I wouldn’t have gone to New Zealand with any issues. The man at the shop is not my maintenance man and is not authorised to touch the boiler. If you had contacted my cleaner we could have resolved this matter.

Lovely cottage. Other than the twin bedroom, the rooms were much larger than they looked in the photos. Good location with good road links to anywhere in the peak district. Nice pub with very nice meals 2 minutes walk away. Small shop in village for last minute essentials. Would definately stay here again.

Lovely comfortable cottage. Even after 11 nights there we wished we could have stayed longer. Good location for walking, cycling etc. Great to be able to soak in a warm bath at the end of the day, whilst still having the convenience of a shower for quick morning starts.
