Description

This traditional farmhouse is an ideal countryside retreat, looking out over fields and Glenmalure Valley. The Wicklow Way is close by.

Situated on a hill overlooking fields of sheep and the beautiful valley of Glenmalure, this holiday cottage makes a complete ‘get-away-from-it-all’ holiday retreat. Accessed via a rough track, it is set on a working sheep farm, and is over 100 years old. It has been restored to a very good standard; a large open fire makes it cosy and welcoming. The Wicklow Way passes by the cottage and is ideal for hill walkers - ending up in the Glenmalure Lodge for great food and music. Horse riding in Annamoe. Avoca (home of Ballykissangel) is about 9 miles, Glenmalure Golf Club is about 4 miles, Greenane Maze is great fun for children and the historic Glendalough is about 6 miles. Dublin is under 1 hour’s drive. Shops, pubs and restaurant 0.6 miles.

We all enjoyed a wonderful holiday. The location was stunning giving wonderful views to wake up to. It is "out of the way" and yet so near to all the interesting places to visit whether it be walks in the country, beach walks or to shop in the lovely towns or visitor attractions. The welcome was outstanding. The farmer greeted us and was friendly and informative. His wife's welcome pack amazing and the homemade loaf and scones delicious. All in all really fabulous place to be. The farm track up is exactly that, a farm track but with four adults in our wee Suzuki Swift we did it no problems you just drive accordingly. So no sweat enjoy the experience.

We had a great holiday, the owners were lovely and made you very welcome. The cottage was very well equipped and very comfortable. We would recommend it especially if you like remote holidays.

We have rented many holiday cottages and I can honestly say we had the best welcome we've ever had. The owner was there to greet us with a fire blazing and freshly home baked bread & scones. She showed us all around the property & explained where everything was. The views from the cottage were absolutely amazing, I would sit outside every morning and watch the deer in between the trees on the hills, listening to the stream & the birds singing with no noise pollution at all.
