Description

This traditional farmhouse is an ideal countryside retreat, looking out over fields and Glenmalure Valley. The Wicklow Way is close by.

Situated on a hill overlooking fields of sheep and the beautiful valley of Glenmalure, this holiday cottage makes a complete ‘get-away-from-it-all’ holiday retreat. Accessed via a rough track, it is set on a working sheep farm, and is over 100 years old. It has been restored to a very good standard; a large open fire makes it cosy and welcoming. The Wicklow Way passes by the cottage and is ideal for hill walkers - ending up in the Glenmalure Lodge for great food and music. Horse riding in Annamoe. Avoca (home of Ballykissangel) is about 9 miles, Glenmalure Golf Club is about 4 miles, Greenane Maze is great fun for children and the historic Glendalough is about 6 miles. Dublin is under 1 hour’s drive. Shops, pubs and restaurant 0.6 miles.

Approximate distance to Dublin Airport is 81.5 km.

A beautiful cottage in set in an amazing location. You can just stand and look at the views forever. Inside the cottage is perfect. Well equipped, comfortable and warm. Lovely welcome basket, perfect friendly welcome from the owner and very clean & tidy. We had a fantastic stay, easy to get to so many places from the cottage with lots of ideas and information in the cottage. The drive up to the cottage is fine, yes it's a bumpy track, but no issue. Don't forget to spot the deer in the woods!

Fantastic place to get away from it all. Kids had a great time hiking, thanks for supplying all the local walking guides - and the welcome basket of goodies. Would highly recommend for excellent scenery, and peace and quiet.
