Beautifully equipped cottage and friendly host. Unfortunately, we found the bedrooms (particularly the twin room) smelt and felt damp which spoilt our enjoyment of the cottage. Without the damp, we would have rated the cottage 9 out of 10.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments, your feedback is always important to us. Since your visit we did locate a leak in a wall in our 300 year old cottage which has now been repaired and sealed. The cottage has been well ventilated, heated and is dry, registering recommended levels on a dehumidifier. Improvements to the cottage are continual, we also have work planned shortly which will help with ventilation. Hopefully we will have the opportunity of welcoming you back to our cottage so that you may enjoy the improvements and beautiful countryside that so many of our regular guests return annually to enjoy.

Cottage rally needs double glazing as everything was wet and damp due to condensation. Such a shame.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: Thank you for your comments, your feedback is always important to us. Following your visit we employed a Chartered Surveyor to inspect the roof and external fabric of our cottage. Recommended works have been carried out and moisture readings are showing that the cottage is dry. Improvements to our 300 years old cottage are continual, with double glazing work planned shortly. The importance of both ventilating, and heating to ensure that humidity levels are at ideal levels cannot be overstated, particularly in an older building. Notes explaining this are now included in our welcome literature.
