Nice house, nice views. Some things are needed in the kitchen. Most doors don't close properly.

It was great, amazing. We had tears in our eyes as we had to leave. The landlord and family had everything prepared for us and lots of goodies. Up early in the morning feeling great, in bed early at night feeling tired because of the beautiful fresh air. Scenery was also breathtaking. One can't count on having good weather in Scotland but there is definitely no guarantee for bad weather. From seven days we had five days of sun and that at the beginning of February. Good bus connections to the north and south through the X7 and the 107. We'll be going back for sure.

A stunning location over looking the sea. The house made a great base for a holiday on the east coast of Scotland with lots of beaches, castles to visit or countryside walks and mountain-bike trails for the more active. The house in many ways was superbly equipped - welcome pack, fresh flowers, binoculars and many extras in the kitchen cupboards. In other ways it was let down by a lack of basics - only 6 bowls [of any description] in a 7 bedded house, few teaspoons and lack of information re recycling etc. Upstairs double room is very cramped with low ceilings and the door doesn't shut best used as a single or for children. Beware , the driveway is very steep and the surface makes turning hard in wet weather. Tesco may not deliver to the address as the van was stuck and the road too busy for reversing out. We will however be back as we over all enjoyed our time at Johnshaven.
