An excellent rural retreat which has been lovingly restored to a high standard. The property is in easy driving distance of main towns such as Diss and yet there are local amenities on hand to meet all your holiday needs

On entering this delightful cottage, and being hit with the smell of freshly baked bread, we guessed this was going to be a lovely place to stay. We weren't wrong as Duncan, the owner, has thought of everything anyone could need to make their stay a pleasant one. Living in a modern property, as we do, to stay in an "olde worlde" cottage with lots of beams, having been a converted outhouse, was absolutely wonderful. The only negative, although not for us, is that it is unsuitable for anyone with walking disabilities or the very elderly, as the stairs are steep and the kitchen floor, being the original brick flooring, is uneven. This little cottage is one of the best holiday homes we have ever stayed in, and the welcome was certainly the best ever. Thank you Duncan.

An enchanting cottage, comfortable, elegant and spacious. Ideal for a family holiday or like us - for a romantic retreat. We enjoyed a wonderful week - warmly welcomed by the owner, Duncan - who showed us around - we quickly settled in to the comfort that this beautiful cottage provides and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings - leaving, at the end of our stay, relaxed and re-juvenated. Would highly recommend.

A warm welcome by the friendly owner, a fresh baked loaf of bread made the setting just perfect, all four of us enjoyed our stay and would return for another visit in the near future.

We had an excellent midweek break at Bakers cottage. The cottage was very well suited to our family (2 year old and 6month old), the garden was beautiful and the addition of garden games really nice; the garden isn't enclosed so supervision of little people was required when outside. The property is beautiful, with a few luxury touches making it feel a little bit special. There was plenty of room for our travel cot and other bits needed when traveling with baby and toddler. The area is lovely and quite with good access to local amenities. Duncan was friendly and helpful host, but let us get on with enjoying our holiday. Perfect place for a Suffolk break!

We are 'Returner's' to Bakers Cottage! We absolutely love this cottage; we have 2 young children and everything is catered for and more. It is comfortable - especially the mattresses; it is super clean and beautifully designed and decorated. Duncan is the perfect host and goes out of his way to make sure all of the guests are well looked after. The cottage is perfectly placed for beaches, villages and local points of interest. As we stated in the guest book, we will be returning again to Bakers Cottage.

Baker's Cottage is a super cottage with a welcoming and helpful host. The facilities within the cottage are excellent with all creature comforts provided. There is a lovely outside seating area also. It is spotlessly clean and well set out. The stairs although steep are not straight up and there are handrails to help so we did not find this a problem. Duncan welcomes you with homemade bread which is very tasty. There is a really good manual with clear instructions for all the gadgets such as the dishwasher, coffee machine, TV and log burner. The beds are very comfortable and we slept really well. There are walks from the cottage and it takes thirty five to forty mins to walk to The Swan at Hoxne. The village shop was small but had good top up supplies. We came back via the circular walk across the fields and quiet country lanes. Eye is nearby and is a nice place with more facilties such as a bank and lovely chocolate shop with cafe. Thornham Walks nearby are worth a visit. Nice friendly cafe. You do need a car to get to these places but if you just want to do a few local walks and relax with a book or Netflix film then the cottage is also perfect.
