Enjoying a peaceful location in a secluded valley, yet within easy reach of the coast, this charming, Grade II listed, Tudor farmhouse is set in its own extensive grounds, which include a hard tennis court, and access to its ancient bluebell woodland, as well as streams, ponds and a small lake. Tastefully furnished and equipped, it is just 3 miles from the attractive village of Harbertonford, with general store and pub. An adjacent converted coach house is very occasionally used by the owners. The sandy beach at Blackpool Sands is just 15 miles away, whilst picturesque Totnes (8 miles) offers town amenities including a sports centre, ancient castle ruins, art galleries and river trips to Dartmouth. For walkers, both the Dartmoor National Park and the South Devon Coastal Path are within easy touring distance. Dartmouth (12 miles) is an interesting town full of narrow streets and fine historic buildings housing a variety of shops, excellent restaurants and inns; there is also a yachting marina. The
225-acre Dartmouth Golf and Country Club features an 18-hole championship course, together with a health and leisure club. Sandy beaches, riding, a children’s leisure park, Dartington Hall and many good pub/restaurants can all be found within 10 miles. Shop/P.O. 3 miles.

Ashwell Court is a marvellous place which really feels like home. Seven bedrooms and three living rooms , all nicely and tastefully equipped, provided enough space für our party of 14. All open fire places were working well, so we could lounge in different groups in an all warm and cosy atmosphere. All electricity and the showers in the bathrooms were working well, and tha AGA in the dining room kelped to keep some of the large amounts of food warm, which has to be cooked for a party of 14. 12 of our party were hungry teenagers... And on one day, when the kids had the choice to either go shopping in Exeter (and they all love shopping!) or to stay in the house, they went for the house! So you can see: They really loved it!

We spent a very enjoyable Christmas here . The accommodation was good plenty of room for all of us, lots of crockery and utensils. The only downside being we felt there weretoo few bathrooms, also in some of these the showers did not work.

Beautiful setting, lovely grounds, spacious house, wonderful terrace, good location and great for our large mixed group. The bathrooms, whilst obviously recently updated, were the one area that need swift improvement as our party of 14 had 2 working showers and these had no pressure. This made mornings a bit like a camping experience with people traversing the house and queuing for the working showers. In addition the kitchen was actually too well equipped with bakeware and equipment but as a consequence had no cupboard space for food and there were not enough glasses for the while party. This was a wonderful house but theses areas need sorting out to make people's stay up to scratch.

A great place for our family gathering. Access narrow and winding, but no real problem with sensible driving. Only criticism is with bathroom/shower provision - low water pressure and fluctuating temperature.
