Description

Set amongst 22 beautiful acres with a fantastic tennis court and sleeping 14 guests, Ashwell Court is ideal for that special occasion.

Enjoying a peaceful location in a secluded valley, yet within easy reach of the coast, this charming, Grade II listed, Tudor farmhouse is set in its own extensive grounds, which include a hard tennis court and access to ancient bluebell woodland, as well as streams, ponds and a small lake. Tastefully furnished and equipped, it is just 3 miles from the attractive village of Harbertonford, with general store and pub. An adjacent converted coach house is very occasionally used by the owners. The sandy beach at Blackpool Sands is just 15 miles away, whilst picturesque Totnes (8 miles) offers town amenities including a sports centre, ancient castle ruins, art galleries and river trips to Dartmouth. For walkers, both the Dartmoor National Park and the South Devon Coastal Path are within easy touring distance. Dartmouth (12 miles) is an interesting town full of narrow streets and fine historic buildings housing a variety of shops, excellent restaurants and inns; there is also a yachting marina. The 225-acre Dartmouth Golf and Country Club features an 18-hole championship course, together with a health and leisure club. Sandy beaches, riding, a children’s leisure park, Dartington Hall and many good pub/restaurants can all be found within 10 miles. Shop/P.O. 3 miles.

Lovely outdoor space and good fishing on the lake. Lots of space inside, well-equiped but we didn't need to worry about things the toddlers could break. A wide variety of activiites to do within 30 mins drive but no facilities within walking distance. Very peaceful and off the beaten track.

A wonderful cottage, room and equipment for everyone. Comfortable and well furnished. Close to Dartmouth and Totnes but also "off the radar" down beautiful Devon lanes. A memorable holiday.
