Ash is a very comfortable, compact cottage in a quiet farm complex in Bream. It is well equipped and spotlessly clean. The situation is ideal for visiting the Forest of Dean, the Wye Valley and, for longer days out, the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons. There are lots of things to do whatever the weather. After busy days out, we self catered for an evening meal and relaxed in the pleasant sitting room with a view of the sheep and the hillside. The Chinese meal from the take away in the village on our last evening was disappointing. We had a very pleasant week, won't hesitate to stay in Ash if we return to the area, and will certainly recommend.

A lovely peaceful place to stay, just off the main road. Could see the buzzard and a pheasant from the window of the cottage it just added to the holiday.

lovely location property would be fine for 2 adults and 2 children but living quarters a little cramped for 4 adults The beds were extremly comfortable and the en suite facilities good. The heating in the accomodation was fantastic .

We had a lovely stay. The cottage was very clean and well equiped. The only thing we found was that it was a little too compact we were a party of 3 adults, also found the couch and chairs a bit uncomfortable. The location is wonderful for the walks we did and very handy for Tintern Abbey and Offas Dyke which were very interesting.

We had a wonderful week at Ash.Even the weather was superb. One very small Quibble - it would have been easier to find if the directions had told us to turn opposite the church in Bream instead of giving a list of street names which we could not see. However, it was a lovely holiday with lovely hosts.

Good location. Beds VERY uncomfortable as were the easy chairs and sofa. The 17" television placed high on a shelf scarcely provided reasonable viewing for 3 people!

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. All beds have new and better quality mattress on them. We were advised to put the television on the shelf for health and safety reasons when children come to stay as there is limited space. With regards to the seating I am sorry you found them uncomfortable. Thank you for the high scores on position and cleanliness.

ASH cottage was originally part of the farm's cow shed: the cottage is well designed, uses all the space available to create comfortable, compact and high standard of accommodation perfectly adequate for four adult guests or family of four. Everything was clean and well maintained and we would recommend it. The showers were always warm and powerful and the owners provided plenty of towels too as part of the price.
