My family visited Arrow Cottage to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday. We had 7 adults and 5 children. Everyone had a fabulous time at this very beautiful cottage. It had everything you could possibly want and more - very well equipped. On arrival I was greeted by the very friendly owner Val who had a lovely blazing fire going for us and a huge welcome pack of bread, milk, fruit juice, eggs, butter, fruit and a huge box of shortbread - which was a lovely surprise. Val could not do enough for us. The cottage was very large and spacious but cosy as well and beautifully decorated. There was a lovely garden which would be great in the summer with amazing views over Weardale. The cottage had an array of games for adults and children, dvds and cds. The games room has a pool table, football table and tv with x-box and loads of x-box games. The children were very well entertained. Everyone commented that the beds were very comfortable as well. The men were happy because directly across the road is a very traditional cosy pub and another pub down the road. The owners also provided a wealth of information about the local sights and lots of information about local walks - if you are a walker it will be paradise for you. I could not recommend this cottage highly enough, can't wait to go back!

Arrow Cottage is spacious, well- equipped, and a warm welcome awaits visitors. The dinning room table was filled with goodies when we arrived. The toys and games, DVd's, books and teddies for the kids were just amazing. There were lovely comfy beds, piles of fluffy towels tied up with ribbon and in the kitchen enough pots and pans to keep any cook happy. The terrace has fine views over the valley and is excellent for birthday celebrations. Julie popped over mid week to replenish our supply of freshly laid eggs...How lovely is that?

We had a really lovely weekend, there were 13 of us for a family birthday weekend. The cottage is beautiful and very well equipped with a lovely back garden. There were cupboards full of games for the kids who were entertained non-stop. The owner who greeted us was really lovely and she left us a lovely welcome pack. The area is really nice, as is the village itself, with 2 pubs. I would highly recommend and cannot fault a thing.

Family of 9 adults, 6 children and a baby, we stayed here for three nights in mid April. The cottage has everything you'll need plus some special extra touches- a very large book and dvd selection. Towel bales on the beds, and a large welcome food package. There is a lot of information for walks/ places of interest near by. The cottage is large and none of us felt in each other's pockets. It's tastefully decorated, in keeping with the age of the cottage. There was a real fire which we made use of in the evenings. We would definitely stay there again. The owners have thought of everything.

What a perfect holiday cottage! A spacious home, that's very well equipped. Valerie is a wonderful hostess and even lit the fire in advance of our very late night arrival. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of room for our party of 6 adults and 5 children - and the dog! Valerie goes above and beyond as a hostess - thank you for everything! We will be back!

It was lovely to walk into a warm house with a lovely fire on the go. We all enjoyed our stay ,and having a few essential food items left for us was a real bonus. It was only a small village ,no shop, but two pubs the one across the road having sky in so some went to watch the football and said it was very friendly. The only down side was the fridge not been big enough, an old fridge in the garage as a spare to store wine etc would have been perfect. All said a fab weekend, and would love to go again
