Description

Cosy, compact modern single storey accommodation giving easy access to explore the Ayrshire Coast and the Isle of Arran

Whether you are here to relax amidst stunning scenery, to sample the best of Ayrshire’s fine dining, or here to sail within the great seafaring tradition that is Fairlie, then you will be sure of a warm welcome at Arran View, with its cosy, compact and well presented, modern accommodation. Ayrshire has an amazing coastline and the road follows the sea like a ribbon with stunning views across to Cumbrae, Arran and Bute. Tantalizingly close, the Isle of Arran just beckons one to hop on the ferry and live the adventure - easy to do for the day. Often referred to as ’Scotland in Miniature’, the Isle of Arran offers towering granite peaks to the north and a softer, greener landscape in the south. There is so much to do here, from climbing Goat Fell or visiting historic Brodick Castle - or indulging yourself with local Arran cheeses, beers, whisky or soaps - you can even make your own! There are lovely sandy bays and amazing wildlife such as deer, otters, seals and if you are lucky you may spot an eagle.

Good as a base for travelling around the area, not so good if you spend a lot of time at property. The patio area we had access to was down a narrow path at side of property and was an unmown grass area.

This property is an annexe which is not stated on details. It felt damp upon arrival the central heating was put on to warm it up (this is controlled from main house). There is a heater in the lounge. There is also an apartment above the annexe which is also rented out. Most of the property was clean but a few items in the kitchen were not. The oven left a lot to be desired and I didn't use it. The location was good. We left after 2 days (we were booked for a week).

Great location for touring the West Coast of Scotland. However, the "put you up" in the lounge is not comfortable so I would honestly feel the accommodation is for 2 adultys max.

Having stayed at a number of cottages over the past few years we have come to expect a high standard within the cottages. Most owners make special efforts to make their cottages as attractive and as comfortable as possible, Arran View didn't meet that standard, although the bed was comfortable and the shower a good size. The view from the window didn't show any sea, that could only be seen by entering the owners garden The owners were friendly and helpful. The cottage was in an excellent position

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner. Arran View was concerned you were not fully satisfied with your cottage of choice. We refurbish annually at the end of each summer season and are confident this will further improve our offering. We were delighted you thought our cottage was in an excellent location. There are partial sea views from the Bedroom and Lounge however within the summer months these are restricted by our trees as they were in full foliage. However your solely private, large and south facing terrace, as explained in the cottage description, does has outstanding clear views to Arran, other smaller islands and the sea. This terrace is solely for our guests as we have a separate owner private terrace on the other side of Arran View again with a separate entrance and exit. Finally, we always value our customers feedback so thank you
