This delightful Grade II listed house, built in 1865, is situated in Nottington, on the outskirts of the popular seaside resort of Weymouth. It is an excellent holiday home for a large family or two families to enjoy this lovely part of Dorset. It offers ample accommodation with a large living room, four bedrooms with three being en-suite, and a large garden to relax and unwind in; perhaps with a barbecue when you return from your day out exploring. Its location is ideal for going into Weymouth and spending a day on its award-winning sandy beach, visiting Sea Life Aquarium and Tower, enjoying a boating trip with some fishing, or even a day trip to the Channel Islands.

On your doorstep, take in some breathtaking scenery on the nearby Chesil Beach and famous World Heritage Jurassic Coast, and enjoy some superb coastal walking and call in on some wonderful seaside locations, such as Lulworth Cove, Burton Bradstock, West Bay (scene of the TV series ’Broadchurch’) and on to the lovely character seaside resort of Lyme Regis. Within easy driving, the nearby Monkey World will provide great family fun, as will the Bovington Tank Museum with its wonderful live displays. Also, visit Corfe Castle, the West Swanage Steam Railway and much more. Dorchester with its many museums, shops and restaurants is close by, or further afield, Poole and Bournemouth have a lot to offer. Fishing available nearby. Beach 2 miles. We had a lovely three days at the cottage which was spoilt when one of the kitchen chairs collapsed on the last evening, fortunately the person, a 76 year old, fell sideways and although bruised was not seriously hurt. It could have been a different story if he had fallen backwards and hit his head on the stone floor. There was another chair that was also in danger of collapsing. We informed the caretaker and hopefully the problem has been resolved as we would like to go back again. Lovely accommodation for an elderly but fit group especially as each bedroom had its own facilities.

This is a beautiful, spacious, clean and comfortable house. We were seven up and it had plenty of room and bathrooms for everyone. The rooms were warm and comfortable, the cottage is very pretty and the garden is perfect for children and secure for dogs. The location wasn't ideal for us as walkers. Nottington lane doesn't have pavements and the closest public footpath was a dice with death to reach and even then not especially inspiring. Of course not a problem if one prefers to drive out sight-seeing. Within close distance are many lovely places to visit. We enjoyed Weymouth and drove over to Charmouth along the Jurassic coast road to do some fossil hunting. Althehampton was charming and worth a visit (dog-friendly gardens). All in all a lovely week. Note: the woodburner is currently not connected so don't book based on a cosy night by the fire!

This is a charming cottage with plenty of room and a very large homely kitchen. Having two stairways was a bonus as upstairs could be accessed without waking the children. The garden was large which was great for the young ones to play but it is not secure as far as dogs go, ours could not be left out there unsupervised. The level of equipment was brilliant and we would definitely stay there again.

Very satisfied in all regards - even laid on some snow for added novelty value.

My family and I love this cottage. It is so comfortable and spacious. What we love most of all is the peaceful location. It has a huge lounge but we spent most of our time in the kitchen, the heart of the cottage. This was our second stay in just a few months and we will definitely be back again :) q

The cottage is spacious, comfortable, well decorated and homely. The kitchen is very well equipped. We had issues with the heating so would need to be reassured that they were addressed before staying in the winter again. The plumbing in one bathroom is very noisy but it is an old house, so not entirely unexpected. There is a magnificent fireplace with a woodburner which, unfortunately, is not working. Overall, the cottage is beautiful with loads of space, inside and out.

Well furnished and spacious. We loved the bedrooms and bathrooms which were plentiful, extremely comfortable and a pleasure to stay in. The kitchen was an inviting place to eat dinner and play games in the evening, and well equipped. The lounge had plenty of seating and was cosy for such a large room. We did have a problem with the heating but this was sorted very quickly. The only thing which could have been improved was the place mats in the kitchen which weren't in great condition. Nottington was a good location for going to places, although the village wasn't particularly a pretty one nor was there a pub in walking distance, however on this occasion the comfort of the cottage was more important to us. One thing to note: please locate the name of the cottage at eye level - when in the car you aren't looking 2metres high for a sign, so we missed it several times.

Fabulous week in a beautiful cottage with so much charm and comfort. Access to many lovely towns and villages, great walks and even lots to do if the weather is not great! Can highly recommend.

April's cottage is in a beautiful location and the cottage is very large and charming. There is nearly everything you need in the cottage to enjoy your stay but a tumble dryer would be a great addition. There is plenty of parking at the cottage and Weymouth is only a five minute drive away. There is a large garden, which we all enjoyed especially our dog, however the garden would benefit from some love and attention. It was a very quiet and peaceful location. It was amazing to be in the countryside with great views and to know the sea was only five minutes away. We had a great time and would return for another holiday.

We had a great time. It's a lovely cottage which has been beautifully refurbished although I think that more could be made of the garden. The cottage is situated in a country lane and has fantastic views, but literally half a mile up the lane you have a petrol station and supermarkets. It was easy to get a cab too which is handy if you want to go into town and have a drink!

Lovely cottage in a secluded setting, generously proportioned so that even with 8 of us we never felt cramped. A few things missing e.g. would have been good to have a waste basket in the downstairs bedroom and a supply of compostable food waste bags would have made food recycling less unpleasant. Overall nice and quiet location, great garden if you have a dog, well appointed, very clean, nicely furnished. Having key in a key safe is a good idea as we could come and go separately and always be able to let ourselves in whoever came "home" first.
