This was our 3rd visit to applewood, 2 previous stays were in may....so choose august this time for possible better weather, and was certainly not let down!!.......the cottage is lovely and quiet, beautiful views, a short drive to a supermarket, petrol station, a quant town and the beach. So everything on your doorstep just not in the same village......be prepared for a long walk or a short drive if you want to get to these places............we have looked at possibly booking again for 2018, however have now been put off by another increase in price and we couldn't justify the extra cost knowing that the cottage will be the same..........

It looked a lovely cosy & well set out cottage when we looked on line. When we got there & went in it was just how it looked on line, perfect! Very clean, plenty of films & games for a rainy day, everything you could possibly want. The bath was perfect for me & my husband said the shower was great. The sheep were in the field to the side of the cottage & it would have been lovely if they had of lambed the week we stayed, it would have made it even more perfect. We were quite worried about parking, we always chose a place with off road parking/ driveway but as we both liked the look of the cottage & really wanted to stay there so we went for it. Once there we were happy to park along the road outside the cottage as it is a lovely little village & the road is only wide enough to park & for one way traffic to pass the car so you don't get someone coming the other way squeezing passed. If we wanted to come back to the area we would defiantly stay at the cottage. There was only the two of us staying but a family of 4 could just as easily of stayed there.
