Appledore was exactly what we wanted - to get family together from north and south for a weekend 40th birthday celebration. Suited children 17,13 and 16mths. The weather was kind to us - it was really cold but dry.

The location was great and the garden was lovely. The boiler was not working properly so my brother-in-law had to keep resetting it. The dishwasher runners were broken and the washing machine had code issues. I think there were quite a few things that were dated and needed replacing. I know the property is up for sale and this is probably why they are not replacing various items, but the hot water situation meant than none of us could bath and the shower upstairs was broken and constantly dripping.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; I am sorry you were troubled by a couple of issues on your holiday. Had you called any of the numbers supplied on the welcome letter we would have come out straight away to sort the boiler. I have to say that by leaving it without saying anything means that we are not aware of the situation and consequently didn’t have the gas engineer look at it. My manager only noticed a problem when she popped in the other day and we are currently having a new part fitted to the boiler.

A lovely area, kitchen dining area perfect and well equipped. But some problems with the cottage, one shower so hot it was dangerous, one radiator didn't work, tv remote didn't work, back door wouldn't close after rain. These were not urgent and have been reported to the owner.
