Description

Located on a working farm with Dundee on your doorstep, this is a great property to enjoy the best of both worlds.

These two delightful stone built holiday cottages, (refs 27170 and 27171), have been thoughtfully converted from former stables into lovely cosy accommodation. Situated on a working farm, they have been beautifully styled with contemporary furnishings and make a great base to explore this lovely area. For family groups they can be booked together, or alternatively, they make a good choice for couples. There are several good golf courses, fishing, including sea fishing, and other country sports establishments, all within a short drive, or you may prefer the superb walking available in the nearby Angus Glens. There are plenty of activities in the city of Dundee, 4 miles, from country parks at Clatto and Camperdown, to ice skating, cinema, leisure pool and HMS Discovery. St Andrews, Perth and the East Neuk of Fife are all well worth a visit or alternatively indulge in some retail therapy in Dundee’s shopping centres. The villages and towns strung out on the coast from Broughty Ferry to Montrose offer clean beaches and local produce, notably the famous Smokies from Arbroath. Shop 1 mile, pub 1½ miles, restaurant 2 miles. These two delightful stone built holiday cottages, (refs 27170 and 27171), have been thoughtfully converted from former stables into lovely cosy accommodation. Lovely cottage with very thoughtful, helpful owners. The log burner is a delight. The cottage contains absolutely everything needed for a comfatable stay and is clean, the welcome flowers, bread and bottle of wine are a thoughtful touch. The only negative aspect of the cottage is the road leading to it which needs attention and would be ok for a 4 X 4 but is not kind to cars due to being very bumpy, I know the owners have plans to repair it. We would reccomend the cottage and would stay there again.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your kind comments on the cottage and we are glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We fully appreciate your comments on the road and yes it has indeed been repaired with enough stock to keep on top of the pot-holes. The wet summer of 2015 then autumn and winter took its toll on all such farm roads and we had to wait for a sustained dry period to get to work on it which we managed to do March 20th thankfully. Thanks again.

This a delightful cottage very well appointed. The owners are a lovely couple who cannot do enough to ensure your comfort. If you want a rural retreat with scenic vistas yet have the amenities of Dundee within easy reach you will not do better.

We wanted a relaxing weekend with our dog who was recovering from a major operation and that is exactly what we had. A lovely welcome pack of eggs, homemade bread and bottle of wine was a wonderful bonus. Obviously if you book a cottage in a remote area you require a car if you want to get out and about and there are certainly plenty of places to visit in the surrounding vicinity - we didn't go far because of recuperating pet, we did visit Carnoustie beach and Monikie Park but we were also very happy relaxing in the cottage. Home from home, a wee gem.
