Beautiful bay views

These bright and well-equipped holiday apartments stand in a commanding position with panoramic views from the front across the stunning Port Isaac Bay. Each apartment boasts at least one en-suite bedroom and all are fitted and furnished to a very good standard. The apartments on the first floor and The Penthouse have balconies to enjoy the views and the ground floor apartments have French doors leading to patios with the same vista. Each apartment comes with its own beach hut-style storage to the rear for bikes or surf boards, which is ideal as the property is only a few miles from some of the best surfing beaches and is yards away from the stunning coastal path.
Set just a short stroll down the hill to the harbour at Port Isaac, made famous by the TV series ’Doc Martin’ where a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants can be found. Also within easy reach are the coastal villages of Boscastle and Tintagel, the mythical home of King Arthur.
A short drive away is Padstow with its array of shops, pubs and restaurants including Rick Stein’s famous fish restaurant. From here, cycle (bike hire available locally) or walk along the Camel Trail, a disused railway line which follows the Camel Estuary, to Wadebridge and beyond to Bodmin. Alternatively, take a ferry across to Rock to sample the many water sports on offer.
Down the coast is Watergate Bay, the home of kite surfing and also Jamie Oliver’s ’Fifteen’ restaurant, and Newquay with its zoo, Blue Reef Aquarium and a number of sandy, family friendly beaches including the famous Fistral surfing beach.
Guests here are well placed to visit the many attractions that this part of Cornwall has to offer: the Eden Project, Bodmin Moor, unspoilt moorland at its best and the choice of beautiful gardens on the south coast should not be missed. Shop, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

All on ground floor: Living room with double sofa bed and French doors/dining room/kitchen with breakfast area. Wooden floor throughout. 2 double bedrooms, one with en-suite shower room and toilet, one (zip and link). Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

DVDs. Washing machine. Patio with furniture. Car park 150 yards, (approx £30per week).

All properties: Electric heaters, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Two Freeview TVs. Microwave. Washer/dryer. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Shared sitting-out areas to front and rear with furniture. Cycle store. No smoking.

    We couldn't use the hob and it took ages to work out the tumble and wasn't enough blankets as it was cold because the heating wasn't on at a constant temperature. I stayed in apartment 2 and it was fantastic all round. When we arrived I had been given the wrong key number for the box in the porch. So that took ages to get in. The staff were helpful but I left early on the Wednesday as I couldn't cope in there any longer. Apartment 1 never again. Sorry.

    Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your feedback. We are disheartened to hear that on this occasion you have not fully enjoyed your stay with us. Although slightly smaller, Apartment 1 is of the same high standard as all of the Halcyon Apartments. All of the Apartments have identical induction hobs, heating systems, washer driers and additional duvets etc. and a book containing instructions for each appliance can be found within every Apartment. After several conversations with our Manager, it is a shame that you did not voice your concerns as the Manager would have been more than happy to point out that there were additional duvets in the bedroom wardrobes; we do not want our guests to feel cold. The room thermostat can also be adjusted if required and the electric heaters are of high quality and are very easy to turn up or down. Each Apartment has its own unique key code and whilst the correct code was advised, it would not open the door as it was being entered into the key safe for Apartment 2. All the Apartments were fully booked and we were unable to meet your request to be moved from Apartment 1 to Apartment 2. After checking their records, our cleaner confirmed that Apartment 1 was the accommodation booked and it is regrettable that you had such a disappointing holiday this time. That said; we are pleased that when staying previously in Apartment 2, you found it ‘fantastic all round’ and hope that you will return to visit us in the near future.

    We really enjoyed our holiday and would love to return. The views were spectacular and the apartment well equipped. The only downside was this apartment did not have its own allocated parking.

    2nd time stay at the Halycon apartments, great views, great place, lovely apartment, convenient for everything. Wifi would of been useful
