There is a private, large, fenced fly-fishing lake just a 10-minute walk away from the property, which is well-stocked with brown and rainbow trout. Fishing on the lake is free of charge on a catch and release basis (equipment and rod licence required). Porthdinllaen is just a short distance away, as is the beach at Porth Oer, or Whistling Sands, so called because the rounded grains of sand squeak when walked upon. Take a trip to Bardsey Island, home of twenty thousand saints, an exciting way to appreciate this coastline. Within easy reach are Aberdaron, Abersoch, Pwllheli, Criccieth with its castle perched almost on the beach or Porthmadog, home of the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Steam Railways. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
