A very clean and comfortable cottage with beautiful views. We have stayed in a lot of self catering properties in Scotland and this is one of the best. The fresh flowers and bottle of wine on arrival are a lovely touch. The property is in a good location for exploring the area and we would definitely recommend it to others.

This is the second time I have stayed at Anchor Cottage so I knew what to expect on arrival. The cottage is extremely well equipped , especially if you enjoy preparing meals and is set in a fantastic location. My only disappointment this time is that being a fishing holiday , we had previously used the chest freezer in the utility room to store our frozen bait to last the week. This freezer is now locked by the owner , we managed this time using the fridge freezer in the kitchen as our party was relatively small , but if there were 5 or six anglers then the facility to store frozen bait would be a problem for us and this is bait that we cannot buy locally to Crinan. This issue is of course specific to the type of holiday we go to Crinan for.

We have stayed at this property several times now and absolutely love the location. The house has always been very well appointed but is showing quite a lot of signs of wear and tear. The main oven is not working properly and toilet seats have come loose. The furniture in the lounge was marked and grubby and paintwork needs sprucing up. The rug in the conservatory is badly marked and seat covers are coming apart with one of the tops broken. The appliances in the utility room need looking at to with the vent door on the drier broken which means when you use it fluff goes ev er ywhere. We would have liked to have cleaned better but there was no access to a hoover. Whoever is responsible for changeover cleaning is only doing an adequate job. There were hand marks on the furniture. Muck on the carpet and dust on shelves and pictures. Better cleaning would have made a huge difference for what is a quite a high rental property It is basically showing its age and needs some tlc. The dishwasher is a bonus though. All of this would not stop us staying again as we love this area and this particular accommodation and the grading reflects issues that have arisen from inadequate maintenance, replacement of defective equipment and basic cleaning of a very well used property.
