French Country Cottages

An inspiring collection of properties chosen for their character, luxury and heritage.

Set in an historic Breton hamlet boasting its own listed chapel and village bread oven, this pair of lovingly restored stone fishermen’s cottages nestle in a sheltered setting. The two cottages are offered as a single property, providing adjacent yet separate holiday accommodation for two families. Looking out onto a pretty courtyard to the rear of the owner’s house, the interior features a fresh nautical theme with beamed ceilings throughout. An 800 metre stroll along a country path takes you to La Greve Blanche beach, one of many in the area with pale sands and clear waters providing an ideal opportunity for water sports. The beach at La Torche, with its dune-backed expanse of sand is excellent for surf-lovers. For a quieter day out, explore the coastal path which takes you past striking lighthouses and superb views at every turn. The famous fishing port of Le Guilvinec is close by; visit towards late afternoon to see the trawlers returning with their catch and buy local langoustines for supper.

Approximate distance to Brest airport is 65 km.

Enjoyed a great weeks holiday with the family. With 4 kids in tow the private swimming pool was a big hit and the beech being just a short walk away was fantastic. The hosts who lived next door were very welcoming and friendly, never intrudered but we're there if you needed anything. A little gem hidden away worth every penny. Will definitely return.

An ideal family holiday. We were a party of 8, my daughter, her husband and 4 children in one cottage and myself and my wife in the other cottage, ideal. The pool was a hit and you can have a cover if the weather is bad, Remember to take some charcoal for the barbecue . The location was good close to most activities and the beaches.

A super cottage for families, friends, relaxing and activities. We were a family of 4 (kids aged 5.5 years and 14 months) and this cottage was perfect for us. The pool was great - on sunny days we had the cover open, on cooler days kept the cover closed. Our 5 year old loved it! The cottage itself had everything we needed, including a stair gate at the top of the stairs and blackout blinds in the rooms upstairs. We didn't use the annex building but it would be great for grandparents/friends as it had its own little kitchen and en suite. The beach is 300m away (10mins) and is great - at low tide there are rock pools and the tide goes out gradually, so is great for kids to paddle. For the more adventurous there is a water sports kiosk on the beach for windsurfing/catamarans etc. Lots of fun to watch if you don't want to take part. There's a supermarket 5 mins drive away, and the local town is ~5mins drive too. The cottage owners are amazing too - really helpful and very thoughtful. If you are looking at renting this cottage, book it now, you'll have a super holiday!

An llis is described as a cottage but its actually two cottages and a swimming pool! It was an absolutely fantastic place and the hosts were lovely and kind. We were an extended family group so the two cottages with outdoor communal eating place were great. The pool was amazing and we couldn't get my 2 year old out of it every day. The location is brilliant, just a short walk from the beach and within an hours drive in every direction there is a lovely town or village to explore. We would highly recommend An Ilis and will hopefully be back again in the future.

Very friendly and helpful owners maintain these beautiful cottages - the pictures understate how nice they are. Excellent facilities and welcoming swimming pool.
