This holiday property is outstanding, huge with lots of space for large parties .we are a group of friends who stay in holiday properties every year over the festive break and can say that this was our best find ever. A stunning property with wonderful hosts Neville and Moira who couldn't do enough for us . The property is well equipped and very warm ,so warm with lashings of hot water that we didn't even light the log burner ! All the bedrooms were en suite with huge comfortable beds ,beautiful towels and bedding. The public house opposite was welcoming with friendly staff and good food . Would we return to this house ? Yes of course we would and we are ,but shhh don't tell too many people about this gem in the Lakes .

We have stayed at Algars Garth , I think this is the 6th time. Neville and Moira are wonderful hosts and are available at any time. Very comfortable after a hard days walking, with the comfy sofas and the woodburning stove. And the Boot and Shoe pub is a minute away!

We all had a wonderful family holiday (family of 7 plus 2 dogs) big and spacious with a lovely view across the village, the owners Mr and Mrs Howard couldn't have been more helpful and made our stay all the more pleasant, we would all like to return and highly recommend it.

Algar's Garth is a beautiful house; spacious, well equipped and full of character. We received a very warm welcome from the owners and were delighted with the sight of a roaring wood burner and a lounge area with three very comfortable settees. The bedrooms, all with en-suite, were similarly very comfortable, the master bedroom being enormous, with a view over the village green. The house is well situated for touring many of the lakes, with good access to town facilities in Penrith and Keswick. We were impressed with how warm the house was, especially when returning from long walks in the changeable weather. Our party, who ranged in age from 11 to 70, plus the dog, all loved our week's holiday and intend to return.

Algar's Garth is an exceptional property, with everything you could need. The location is great and the local pub provides good affordable food. A couple of issues which at the end of the day boil down to personal preference, the lighting in the lounge is very low and in the evenings we found it difficult to read and some of the furniture was a little tired. We had a wonderful holiday and the owners made us very welcome. We would recommend this property.

We stayed at Algar's Garth for 7 nts in March 2016 just prior to the Easter week. We stayed with family and had a truly fantastic week. The house was brilliant and had everything we needed. Our hosts, the owners, were very helpful and looked after us well. The house was everything we had hoped for and the location was a superb base for visiting the surrounding area. The Boot & Shoe pub across the road was great as it allowed us and the dogs in so we spent most evening there before retiring by the log burner back at the house. We would definitely return.
