I have to agree with some of the other reviews, in regards to creaking floor boards upstairs , so one up all up, chairs in the dining room need attention, you can feel the springs when you sit down, some of the pans and kitchen utensils have seen better days, and no Wi Fi , otherwise not a bad place to stay.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your feedback. BT have installed unlimited free WiFi three days after you left. With respect, if we were told of problems with dining chairs, they would have been immediately replaced; three chairs were replaced before Christmas. Similarly, pans and utensils will be inspected, and replaced as necessary. We do rely, and request our guests to contact us should there be any problem, or indeed any breakage or breakdown, to contact us for our immediate attention during their stay.

We had a very enjoyable weekend here as a family. Was great to be able to have all our dogs with us too. The only reason for an '8' on overall rating was a broken door handle in living room and a blocked drain in garden. However it was mentioned to the owner and wasn't causing us a big issue and we said we didn't need it doing that weekend. He assured us it would be remedied for the next people staying there.

The cottage was very modern, clean and welcoming the only negative was the lack of Internet

House was okay, just enough room for us (6 adults, 4 children, 1 infant). Boiler was broken, took 2 days for it to be repaired. Cooker took forever to heat up, grill too. Some pots, pans and plates were not cleaned properly on arrival. Quite a lot of dog hairs in the living room on arrival, and a couple of our party had been bitten most days, possible fleas. Since leaving Alarch nobody from our party has been bitten. Dining room windows wouldn't lock and could be opened from the outside. Door handles fall off or aren't fitted on some doors, owner said he was in the process of getting this sorted but upon reading the guest book it appears this has been an ongoing issue for about 18 months. All in all the house was okay, but won't be coming back.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Alarch is a property graded by Hoseasons for sleeping up to 10 persons to 4 star standards. Boiler issues are covered by British Gas insurance. Weekend calls do take slightly longer to respond to. Immersion heater will provide adequate hot water for any family in lieu of boiler. Pots and pans were stored away by previous guests I can only apologise if they were put away in that condition. The previous week's guests had no dogs, I cannot imagine how they found dog hairs, my cleaning team are thorough. If dog hair was found I apologise unreservedly. The range cooker is under 12 months old and works perfectly. Upon my inspection, the dining room windows work, and lock perfectly. There is no problem. To insinuate that there is a flea problem at my property is upsetting. My cleaners will be extra vigilant at every changeover. Please bear in mind, people do get bitten at the seaside in summer, that is not to say these took place at Alarch. This party left Alarch seemingly happy, apart from a mention of the windows.

House looks good but very creaky ! Toilet straight off kitchen not very hygienic and caused a few issues as you have to walk through toilet to get to back door ! Fridge in inconvienent place as you can't walk out of kitchen if someone's in fridge or you bump door into fridge from other direction ! A few chairs in dining room rather uncomfortable as springs are sticking up . Handle on ensuite was off ! Looking at guest book this has been an on going issue . My biggest problem was the note from owner saying not to leave dogs un attended in the house ? We booked this house because it allowed dogs ! We had a great week in angellsey and will be back again This is a lovely house but didn't quite fit all our requirements .

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; The location of the loo does comply with current building regulations. That is your subjective opinion, which I accept. The dining chairs have been inspected and found to be in satisfactory condition. All door handles have been attended to, and the whole property has been inspected and graded 4 stars by Hoseasons Regional Manager yesterday. I am reliably informed by Hoseasons that it is Company Policy, not my policy to ask people not to leave pets on their own in any property. I have now been supplied with a Company statement to this effect, and this is posted in the house.

Alarch is great for a lot of people to get together. Beds comfy, place very clean. Few hiccups at first, no hot water. This was remedied by using Emersion heater. Unfortunately landing very creaky so when one person up and you are light sleeper all awake. No garden to speak of just courtyard. Also needs a handyman to sort all the little jobs out

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. The description of Alarch has been amended online and the pictures will illustrate the extent of the enclosed garden / patio / courtyard area to the rear. Trees that were obstructing the light are to be removed in response to adverse comments by some reviewers. All other ‘little jobs’ have been attended to - thank you for bringing them to our attention.
