Museums, theatre, good shops, cafés and restaurants lie within walking distance of the historic walled town of Berwick-upon-Tweed – from here train journeys to Edinburgh or Newcastle take 45 minutes. Holy Island, Bamburgh, Seahouses and Alnwick’s Castle and internationally acclaimed water gardens are all easily accessible. Golf, fishing, riding, walking and cycling are enjoyed locally. Shop and pub serving food 200 yards.

    Great base whilst working locally. Lovely welcoming touches with the cupcakes and the towels. Kitchen is adequate for the less adventurous cooks amongst us. No washing up bowl seemed odd (especially given the sink is so hard) and the toilet flush is weak. A shaving light would have been appreciated. The paintwork in the bathroom was the only noticeable decor fault and the double duvet has seen better days but overall extremely well presented. Not immaculately clean (under the bed, bathroom skirting behind door) but better than many and I'm a hygiene auditor so am bound to be picky. No winter heating supplement charged at this property.

    Lovely and clean holiday property, but perhaps a little compact. Could have done with more kitchen equipment i.e.. pots, casserole/serving dishes and more towels would have been appreciated only two hand towels for four people not enough. Very pleasant patio area which was great for the dogs, very secure. Property situated great for the beach, again great for the dog walks. All in all a lovely holiday and the weather was kind.

    A comfortable and conveniently located cottage, a great base for exploring the Northumberland coast & Cheviot Hills. Only 200 yards from the beach too. Clean & well-equipped, though the TV & other audio equipment is rather dated. Not too many amenities in the immediate vicinity, but the centre of Berwick is only a brisk 20-minute walk away, & what a gem that town is.
