Ideal base for touring

The views from these cottages have to be seen to be believed. Set in the Lake District National Park in an elevated position with stunning views over the Lyth Valley and open countryside to the hills beyond. Addyfield Properties make comfortable holiday home from which to walk direct from the door or for touring in the Lakes.

Lovely spacious house. Stunning views from patio. Access to good local facilities and Lake District tourist spots. Ideal centre for walking and Lake District centres. House has all modern equipment in traditional, characterful cottage environment. Plenty to do around the house thus avoiding hotspots of Ambleside and Bo'ness.

A lovely, spacious house with comfortable beds the most amazing views. Wonderful pub within 15min walk, close to lots of walks and places to visit. Friendly and helpful owners. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, but a tumble dryer would be nice.

We had a wonderful stay here for a family get together! The farmhouse is up on the hill and has a gorgeous view across the valley and surrounding hills. It was fairly handy to Windermere by car, which you'll definitely need if you're staying here. The owners were extremely helpful and we had everything we needed and if we didn't they were able to get it for us. We would definitely not hesitate to stay here again if we go back to the same area!

The people are lovely. We stayed there 8 years ago and were surprised that nothing seemed to have been updated since. The kitchen and shower room were very tired and need updating. Cupboard doors were loose and work surfaces old and damaged. It's not really of the quality I expected. Carpets also need replacing. The fire alarms kept going off too!

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your feedback it is important to us. We appreciate your comments and are sorry for your disappointment. If mentioned to us we are always on hand to help & rectify any problems which may occur within the days of your holiday. Issues raised will be reviewed. The lounge carpet was replaced 2 years ago and the property received the 'Customer Choice award 2016' which we think speaks volumes.
