The cottage has some good points, for example, it's in a great location, the views from the cottage are fantastic and the cottage is warm and very well equipped, but it feels a little shabby and tired. There was an unpleasant, stale cooking smell in the kitchen and the kitchen floor was grimy. The arms and head rests of the settee and chairs in the living room had a greasy smell and ground in stains. The hall carpet was strained/discoloured along its entire lenght. Considering its price and description the cottage did not match our expectations.

We stay every year in a cottage and we have never had one that was so well equipped as this. Absolutely fantastic and the beds are the most comfortable ever, that comfortable that I wrote down what sort of matteress it was in the double bedroom as I need to get one. Beautiful cottage, beautiful location, would highly recommend this place

Gairloch is a lovely place to spend a week and Ach-Na-Clachan enjoys stunning views of the area. Very comfortable and cosy. The only thing missing is internet connectivity. While I enjoyed being completely disconnected for a few days, by the middle of the week I would have loved to have been able to share some photos online and keep up to date with what was happening back home. Would have been 10/10 if internet was available.

Great place! Would have been a perfect 10 if there was wifi (no 3G in the area)

Perfect for relaxation and superb views over the sea. A lovely welcome from the owner - wine, roses and fudge much appreciated! Watching dolphins in front of the house was amazing. The lack of wi-fi was an issue for only one member of the family.

It was our fifth stay at Ach-na-Clachan, which speaks for itself. It is clear from the visitors book that many many others share our feelings about it being a perfect holiday home for those who wish to enjoy spacious comfort in peaceful beautiful surroundings. We hope to return next year. There was a problem with the fridge/freezer when we arrived this time but it was easy to contact the owner about it and she dealt with it as quickly as she could.

Well, this would have been 10/10 but one thing stood in the way of that. No Internet access at all. In this ever more connected age this is problematic. We have stayed in many holiday cottages and virtually all now offer wi-fi. The service is available but the owner has chosen not to install. I would imagine for those that want/need to use social media on a regular basis, then the lack of 'net access will be very problematic. It isn't just that aspect/use; we found it very inconvenient indeed, as using the 'net as is now integral to daily life And don't think "oh well, I'll put up with 3G/4G on my 'phones". There is no 3 or 4G coverage in this area at all. It's just GPRS. In the cottage, on Vodafone, e-mails were only accessible on 2 days out of 14. No net at all. Voice calls are OK, but take a while to connect. O2 e-mails worked, but no 'net. Voice calls OK but a while to connect. No MMS on either network; basic texts OK on both. Many of the local cafes/restaurants have wi-fi though. Above aside, this is a really excellent, well maintained, superbly equipped cottage with stunning views and a quiet(ish) setting. The view of the Loch is ever changing; many an hour spent just gazing out in contemplation. Local shops etc within easy walking distance. Lots to explore locally. We've been coming to this part of The Highlands for coming up on 30 years or so, but there's always something new to take away with you.

We have already booked to go next year for our 10 visit to this property. The only thing missing is WiFi. Stunning views from this property. A very clean and comfortable property. The time of year we go not many amenities open in Gairloch. Everything opens for Easter.
