Offering some of the best beaches and surf in the country, Abbot’s Cottage is an ideal getaway with local attractions.

Forming part of the courtyard to one of Braunton’s oldest houses are these two converted barns. Situated close to the centre of the village, the holiday homes are within easy reach of Braunton’s shops, restaurants and pubs. The barns can be joined together via a connecting corridor and so can be hired together for larger groups. Braunton is the gateway to North Devon’s surfing area, and the well renowned beaches of Croyde, Saunton and Woolacombe offer some of the best sandy beaches and surf in the country. The backdrop to these beaches is the stunning South West Coast Path which offers some excellent walking with lovely views over the sea. There is plenty to do for all ages in the area including Clovelly, the lighthouse and quay at Hartland, the Big Sheep and Milky Way amusement parks, RHS Rosemoor at Torrington, cycling on the Tarka Trail or crabbing at Ilfracombe harbour. The regional town of Barnstaple has plenty of good shops and restaurants and the pannier market and Butcher’s Row are well worth a visit. Dartmoor and Exmoor are both within reach as well as the areas around the northern part of Cornwall. Shops and pub 100 yards.

Very enjoyable and relaxing holiday in quiet area of North Devon. Owners of property very friendly and helpful, dogs welcome at the cottage which was a of barn conversion having all the facilities and also well equipped household items which made it home from home. Delightful local beaches and Braunton in easy reach of larger towns such as Barnstable, Bideford etc., thoroughly recommended as a bolt hole to get away from the pressures of life.

Stayed here for a week. The cottage is based in a lovely village which was within easy reach of all the towns we wanted to visit. The cottage was clean ,comfortable and had everything we needed in it. Spacious for the money, old worldly inside, however it is a 17th century cottage so suited it. It was clean and cosy. The owners were lovely, very welcoming with good knowledge and info on places to visit. Considering it was dog friendly, there was no doggy smells lingering. We would definately stay here again, it was good for the price, in a very pretty setting and within walking distance to local shops, restaurants and a great pub.

Lovely pet friendly cottage, close to several holiday resorts, shops, pubs and takeaways within walking distance. Owners very helpful, advised on places to visit, and good dog walking areas, and pet friendly pubs.

We enjoyed our stay in Abbots retreat very much and the owners where very pleasant .The cottage was very basic . 2 of very thing even 2 teaspoons 1dinner plate. Table with 1chair We know it has a breakfast Bar but we rather sit at the table for our evening meal but it had only 1 chair we did ask for a chair which we where given. The mattress was the most uncomfortable we have ever slept on. Good job we found an old blanket that we could but on top to cover springs .A shame really it could be a lovely cottagea .
