Description

This coastal property is located in a traditional fishing village, perfect for that break away from it all.

Crovie village rests along the bottom of a cliff like a row of puffins gazing out to sea! Situated on the Moray Firth Coast, it’s one of the best preserved traditional fishing villages in Scotland. The spectacular views out to sea and the headlands beyond attest to a 19th-century chronicler’s description of its ’savage grandeur.’ The beach is a dream for children, dolphins are regularly sighted. The holiday cottage overlooks the pier and has the warmth and comfort of a modern home. Golf, fishing, swimming, gallery and harbours within 15 miles. Shop and pub 1½ miles.

Ground floor: Living/dining room. Kitchen. 1 double bedroom with additional single (for alternative sleeping). First floor: Utility room. 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin. Bathroom with toilet.

Open fire in living room (initial fuel included). Central heating from open fire. Electricity heating and electricity by meter reading. Bed linen and towels included. Freeview TV. Cot. High chair. DVD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Tumble dryer. Dishwasher. Freezer. Wi-fi. Payphone. Patio and furniture. NB: No cycling or skating in the village.

Great house in a great location. Our second time to rent No.30 and we'd highly recommend

This was not our first choice of cottage at Crovie as our original booking had a landslide 3 days before our holiday. We were disappointed we were asked to pay for the elecricity on top of rental, especially as there were electric radiators as back up heating, which are expensive. The caretaker put down an electricity reading before we arrived which was inaccurate which would have made us pay more than we used. We had initial coal, which is normal, but due to the fact the fire heated the house through a back boiler made it expensive. It did not help that the quite large house was open plan so we could not close off the lounge to keep warm. The fire heating was supposed to heat the water, which we never got any of. There was not a 'phone number for the caretaker. If we had needed assistance we would have had to ring the owner in Guernsey at our own expense. The emergency torches did not work. The bath was historic, and even if we had hot water we would not have had a bath in it. The bed upstairs was comfortable. Shame the curtains didn't close properly.
