Lovely cottage, well equipped. easy walking distance to centre of Bakewell. As much as we loved property - why washing machine, but no washing line? And car park space so tight with walls either side it takes 2 people to get car in or out. You mentioned steep stairs, we imagined inside as in so many old properties, but, no, it was outside to get from car parking to property. Although we enjoyed holiday, I think this should be highlighted for future visitors.

We arrived to find tea/coffee and milk and been left for us, along with a bottle of red and a pair of Lindt Easter bunnies. The cottage was clean and comfortable, the bed was very comfy and the bathroom excellent, roll-top bath as well as a shower (and bidet). Just a 5 minute walk from town (along the mill leet not the main road) and access to the Monsal trail either via town or straight up and down the small hill opposite the cottage. A very relaxing 4 days, we did not use the car at all.

Victoria cottage is well situated in Bakewell. The road is busy but it didn't bother me. The access to the property from the rear is extremely hazardous due to their being very steep & uneven steps. They had been gritted which made the descent easier with advice is park at the front & get the house opened at the front. The car park space was just large enough to park in, but a degree of skill was needed actually getting into it due to it being surrounded by stone walls & on a narrow access road... Perseverance required!! The cottage was nice inside, the highlights being the bathroom & cosy bed!! The equipment in the kitchen is quite basic if you really wanted to cook.... The owner left a welcome bottle of wine, which was a nice touch. I would book this cottage again..

This is a lovely little cottage, very cosy with an excellent bathroom and kitchen. The outside space would great in summer. The only drawback is the traffic noise at the front.
