There are otters and kingfishers to spot on the way, and you can pop into the nearby bistro and coffee house for a snack en-route. For more adventurous visitors, Bude plays a big part in the surfing community due to its nearby beaches, such as Widemouth Bay, Sandymouth and Crooklets, which are all within 3 miles of Wooldown. As a result, there is an excellent choice of surf schools, and other activities in the proximity include zorbing, abseiling, rock climbing, kayaking, open canoeing, golf, fishing and horse riding. For young families, there are a number of theme parks within driving distance, such as The Milky Way, The Big Sheep, Cornwall’s Crealy Adventure Park and Trethorne Leisure Park. Beach 3 miles.
