The local area is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise. Dolphins, seals and otters have been spotted in the bay below the apartment. There is a small track that leads down to the shoreline below and visitors are welcome to launch canoes and other small craft here. There is also a boatyard just 1/2 mile away where sailing and motor boats can be hired. There are wonderful walks direct from the property across the hills and into the mountains.     This detached lodge is located only 50 yards from the beach on the Kintyre Coast and it enjoys views over the sea to the islands of Jura and Islay. Kintyre boasts wonderful stretches of secluded beach and coastal walks with coves and rockpools. The fascinating little island of Davaar with its lighthouse, cave painting and wild goats can also be reached on foot at low tide. There are marvellous coastal and woodland walks where seals, otters and a variety of birds can be seen, and golden eagles soar in the hills. Activities locally include surfing, sea fishing, horse trekking, mountain biking and island hopping to Gigha, Islay and Arran. Kintyre is home to five golf courses - the most famous is the championship course at Machrihanish with its stunning and infamous first hole. There are a further two 18-hole golf courses, Southend and Machrihanish Dunes, and two excellent 9-hole courses in Carradale and Tarbet. Campbeltown has supermarkets, shops, restaurants and leisure centre which has a swimming pool, gym, sauna and sun beds. In its day, Campbeltown had over 30 whisky distilleries; today only two survive – Glen Scotia and Springbank, with the latter offering tours by appointment. Further attractions in Campbeltown include the Campbeltown Cross, the quaint Art Deco cinema, the Birds of Prey Centre, the museum, the Linda McCartney Memorial Garden and Mull Lighthouse. Ferries are close by for trips to Islay and Jura. There is a seasonal ferry to Ayrshire and the ferry from Tarbert takes you to Portavadie and the Cowal Peninsula, Argyll’s Secret Coast.
